BETSY DEVOS BOOED: Education Secretary Betsy DeVos was loudly booed during her commencement speech at historically black university Bethune-Cookman University graduation ceremony. Students also turned their backs to her during the ceremony.
After receiving an honorary doctorate, DeVos began her speech saying, “I am honored to become a Wildcat.” The booing almost drowned her out.
Bethune-Cookman president Edison Jackson said, “If this behavior continues your degrees will be mailed to you.” “Choose which way you want to go.”

Students also booed when Jackson acknowledged Omarosa Manigault was in the audience. Jackson admonished the audience saying, “You don’t know her, nor do you know her story.” That sparked more boos.
