FBI Sends Letter to Congress Correcting Comey’s Testimony About Huma Abedin’s Emails

The FBI sent a letter to Congress correcting Director James Comey’s testimony on Huma Abedin and her emails. That comes after ProPublica called out Comey for inaccurately testifying that Abedin forwarded thousands of classified emails for her estranged husband, Anthony Weiner to print.

CBS News: “Comey last week told members of the Senate Judiciary Committee that Clinton aide Huma Abedin made it a regular practice to forward “hundreds and thousands” of the former Secretary of State’s messages — including those containing classified information — to her husband, disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner. But, the sources say that while Abedin did occasionally forward emails to Weiner’s laptop for printing, the number was far smaller than Comey claimed and it wasn’t a usual practice. Furthermore, none of the emails forwarded were marked classified, but later, a small number were found to contain classified information.”

It’s shameful that it took the FBI and James Comey six days to clean up the misstatement. This is the same nonchalance that gave Donald Trump an entire weekend to fill the vacuum with lies after Comey sent a letter to Congress about Hillary Clinton’s emails 11 days before the presidential election.
