High school seniors Anna Hayes and Phillip Freeman, from Lake Village, Ark., attended their school prom together last week and it led to her father’s racist tirade because her date is black.
He became enraged after seeing photos of the two on social media. He begins a series of racist text messages saying, “We are done. I wont be coming to your graduation. Nor will I pay for your college. Go live with the n*ggers.”
Anna responded, “I went to prom with a black guy so that’s a problem? Racist much?”
He responded, “Yes I am.” “Your dead to me.”
He even referred to his daughter’s black friends as “subhuman.”
Hayes told Buzzfeed that she and her father haven’t had a great relationship since her early teen years when she moved in with her mother. Her parents are divorced. She said she remembers her father being “openly racist” around her when she was growing up.
Hayes posted a Twitter note urging people not to contact her father nor mother, but said the point of her post was to show racism was still around in 2017.
