Congressional Black Caucus to Decline Second Meeting with Trump

The Congressional Black Caucus declined the second meeting with Donald Trump because the group feels he “has done nothing to advance the CBC’s priorities” since the executive board first met with him in March, Politico reports.

“And members are worried the request for a caucus-wide meeting would amount to little more than a photo op that the president could use to bolster his standing among African-Americans.” You will recall the Oval Office photo op Trump did with presidents of HBCUs earlier this year.

“No one wants to be a co-star on the reality show,” said one senior Democratic aide.”

The CBC is also peeved that reality TV star turned White House aide Omarosa signed the invitation letter to them as “The Honorable Omarosa Manigault.” They believe that she has not earned that title.
