Donald Trump goes off the deep end during an interview with the New York Times (which he calls failing and fake news) saying that French President Emmanuel Macron “loves holding my hand.” Um, so says this?
Trump attended France’s Bastille Day celebration after being invited by Macron. He enjoyed the military parade so much that he wants to have one in the U.S. Let’s not forget he tried to get one following his inauguration.
Here’s a partial transcript:
TRUMP: After that, it was fairly surprising. He [President Emmanuel Macron of France] called me and said, “I’d love to have you there and honor you in France,” having to do with Bastille Day. Plus, it’s the 100th year of the First World War. That’s big. And I said yes. I mean, I have a great relationship with him. He’s a great guy.
HABERMAN: He was very deferential to you. Very.
TRUMP: He’s a great guy. Smart. Strong. Loves holding my hand.
HABERMAN: I’ve noticed.
TRUMP: People don’t realize he loves holding my hand. And that’s good, as far as that goes.
TRUMP: I mean, really. He’s a very good person. And a tough guy, but look, he has to be. I think he is going to be a terrific president of France. But he does love holding my hand.
TRUMP: At that note, the cameras are gone. I was standing there with him, with probably hundreds of thousands of people.
HABERMAN: It was a very crowded [garbled].
TRUMP: And it was one of the most beautiful parades I have ever seen. And in fact, we should do one one day down Pennsylvania Ave.
Trump also dissed Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein during the interview over Russia investigation. He attacked Rosenstein for being from Baltimore, because there are no Republicans there. He also threatened special counsel Robert Mueller if he crosses a “red line” by investigating the Trump family finances and he accused former FBI Director James Comey of trying to blackmail him with the Steele dossier to keep his job.
The bottom line is that there is an insane person with access to the nuclear codes sitting in the White House.
