#FlipThe7th: Harvard-educated entrepreneur David Kim launches campaign to flip Georgia’s 7th congressional district in the 2018 midterm elections. He is on a mission to unseat Republican Rob Woodall in the rapidly diversifying district.
Kim is aiming to build on fellow Democrat Jon Ossoff’s near-win in the Republican GA-06 stronghold. Ossoff lost to Karen Handel by 3.8 percent, which is a huge deal considering Tom Price won by 20+ points.
“I am not your traditional Democrat. I want to represent those voices who feel like they’re not really being represented accurately, ” Kim wrote in a fundraising email to supporters. “I want to be a voice that’s independent minded — thinking about what’s best for the long term for all of us.”
Kim, who founded C2 Education from his college dorm, slammed Rep. Woodall, saying, he “has been more interested in partisan purity than getting things done for the people.”
“From healthcare to our budget, he’s been completely ineffective at building consensus or finding common ground,” Kim said in a news release launching his campaign. “Instead, he’s just a rubber stamp for an administration gone off-the-rails.”
