Isabel Martinez (Isabel Cartuno Martinez) was charged with murder in the stabbing deaths of her four children and husband inside a home on Emory Lane in Loganville, Ga., on Thursday.
Police say a fifth child was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The children who were murdered were all under the age of 10. The husband was in his 30s, police said.
Martinez and her family had recently moved to the area from Illinois. She may have been in the home with the bodies of her family for 24 hours before police were called. The police received a call at 4:47 a.m. on Thursday that four people were stabbed to death inside a home in Loganville. The caller was confirmed to be Martinez.
A neighbor told WSB-TV that Martinez “said her dad passed away months ago, she was in depression and we go to her house and pray sometimes for her dad.”
Martinez has been placed on an immigration hold and was also charged with aggravated assault, according to Gwinnett County jail records. She is being held without bond.
