Angela Merkel Condemns Charlottesville White Supremacist Violence More Forcefully Than Trump

German Chancellor Angela Merkel condemns the Charlottesville white supremacist violence that left three people dead and scores injured as “absolutely repulsive.” She is more forceful than Donald Trump and she’s not even our leader. Heather Heyer was killed when Nazi sympathizer James Alex Fields Jr. plowed into a crowd of counter-protesters. Nineteen people were also injured.

AFP:  “In sharply worded remarks, Merkel’s spokesman Steffen Seibert expressed shock at the weekend rally by Ku Klux Klan members and other white nationalists in Charlottesville supremacists.”

“The scenes at the right-wing extremist march were absolutely repulsive – naked racism, anti-Semitism and hate in their most evil form were on display,” he told reporters.

“Such images and chants are disgusting wherever they may be and they are diametrically opposed to the political goals of the chancellor and the entire German government.”

Seibert said Merkel stood in solidarity “with those who peacefully oppose such aggressive, far-right views.”

“He underlined “how much the chancellor regrets the death of a woman who fell victim” to “an evil attack” by a car driver.”

It is absolutely shameful that even foreign leaders are taking a harder stance on this despicable display of racism on the streets of an American city than the so-called president. British PM Theresa May also condemned the violence. Her spokesman said, “What the President [Trump] says is a matter for him. We are very clear. We condemn racism, hatred and violence. We condemn the Far Right.”

Those are words Donald Trump has not uttered. Instead, he blamed “many sides” for the violence, yet it was the white supremacists that came to Charlottesville to protest the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue. They were armed with weapons, including bats.

I said it repeatedly and I will say it again, Donald Trump has a long history of racist behavior, which includes housing discrimination, attacking the Central Park Five and leading birtherism. He is a RACIST.
