All five living former US presidents joined forces for a charitable initiative, One America Appeal, for hurricane victims. The initiative will raise money and help victims get their lives back on track. It is a historic and wonderful gesture on their part.

Donald Trump tweeted this morning that he was “proud to stand with Presidents for  One America Appeal.” It seems to me that Trump stands alone because of his ugly and erratic behavior towards just about anyone who dares to criticize him for whatever reason. You would think former presidents would be off limits to him. He has insulted each of them on some level. He has yet to apologize to Barack Obama for his racist birther attacks, as well as his Trump Tower wire tap lie.

I wonder if there’s more to the Gang of Five coming together to help hurricane victims? Are they setting the stage to hit back at Trump? We saw George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush issue a joint statement decrying racism in the aftermath of the white supremacist violence in Charlottesville. They didn’t call out Trump by name, but they did something he didn’t — seek to unite the country.

Barack Obama and Bill Clinton slammed Trump’s decision to rescind DACA, calling the move “cruel” and politically motivated. These former presidents are a class act compared to Trump.
