Kenneth Gleason, 23, is being held as a person of interest in the potentially racially motivated murders of two black men in Louisiana. He is being held on unrelated drug charges, The Associated Press reports.

Police launched a manhunt after Donald Smart, 49, was found murdered in a roadway around 11 p.m. on Thursday. He was shot multiple times while walking to work, The Advocate reports.

Two days earlier, Bruce Cofield, 59, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in a roadway, the police said.

Police say Kenneth Gleason’s vehicle fits the description of a vehicle they were looking for. They also said the shell casings at both murder scenes were a match
