Democrat Margaret Good flips Florida’s HD72 to win by eight points, in a district Donald Trump won by five points over Hillary Clinton. This is the 36th seat Democrats have flipped since Trump’s inauguration. A blue wave is coming.
Good defeated Republican James Buchanan by a 52-45 margin. This is a huge deal because it has long been a Republican-held seat. She won in a district in which Republicans outnumber Democrats by over 12,000 voters.
Buchanan had a rally with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski where “lock her up” chants broke out. Lewandowski said, “I am here to make sure one thing happens, that Buchanan goes to the State House and we don’t have another Democrat in the office,” WGCU reports.
Good’s win comes one week after Mike Revis won HD97 in the deep red Missouri, which Trump won comfortably in the presidential election.
