Donald Trump tweets praise for the “great people” at the NRA, including Wayne LaPierre, and it immediately backfires big time: “Just when you think this guy can’t get any more disgusting, he outdoes himself.”
Trump tweeted: “What many people don’t understand, or don’t want to understand, is that Wayne, Chris and the folks who work so hard at the
@NRA are Great People and Great American Patriots. They love our Country and will do the right thing. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Um, so I guess everything he said yesterday during his “listening session” was for naught. He is still beholden to the NRA and his base of supporters who want to arm themselves with assault weapons just because. It’s no surprise that the man who called white supremacists protesting in Charlottesville “very fine people.” He’s now calling the officials at the NRA “great people.”
Trump contradicted himself in an earlier tweet saying that he never said “give teachers guns” while literally calling for “gun adept teachers” to be armed with concealed weapons.
Reaction on Twitter:
Suuuuuure they are. Just like your precious alt right white supremacists who are "very fine people"
You are deranged donnie. https://t.co/SaLuMaa1jg

You – someone who dodged the draft five times – are suggesting what is basically forcible conscription of teachers to fight mentally ill, suicidal children with guns. This is the worst fucking idea in the history of America. https://t.co/G3S8tjanWs
