The Federal Bureau of Investigation says that 43-year-old man, Tranh Cong Phan, was arrested on Monday in Everett WA in connection with suspicious packages sent to military and intelligence facilities in the Washington D.C. area.

The FBI said in a press release that the packages left in Washington D.C. and Virginia, “contained potential destructive devices.”

The FBI said Tranh Cong Phan was taken into custody by FBI Seattle and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office at his residence in Everett, Washington on March 26.

Phan is scheduled to have his initial appearance in the Western District of Washington on March 27, 2018.
