Donald Trump has late night melt down after House Republicans swing and miss over the Comey memos, which clearly show he tried to obstruct justice to quash the Michael Flynn investigation.

Trump desperately tried to spin what the Comey memos really mean but ended up with egg on his face as Twitter erupted into mockery, particularly about the part where he told the former FBI director that Vladimir Putin said Russia has the most beautiful hookers.

He followed that gem up with another equally delusional tweet: “So General Michael Flynn’s life can be totally destroyed while Shadey James Comey can Leak and Lie and makes lots of money from a third rate book (that should never have been written). Is that really the way life in America is supposed to work? I don’t think so!”

The memos weren’t about proving collusion. In fact, they couldn’t and didn’t prove collusion. They did prove that Donald Trump tried to obstruct justice by asking Comey to go easy on former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

The memos also show that Trump was upset at Flynn for not responding quicker to Russia. It’s clear he is reluctant to cross Putin for some reason. This didn’t put the Russia investigation to rest. Besides giving Comey a burst of publicity for his book tour, the memos brought Russia’s hold over Donald Trump front and center again. Plus it shows that the Christopher Steele dossier isn’t fake news as Trump claims. As Comey said in one of the memos, a big chunk of Steele’s findings were corroborated.

James Comey’s words in the memos match what he has said during testimony on Capitol Hill, in his book and in media interviews. He dropped a massive truth bomb that Trump can’t spin his way out of or lie about.
