Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell compares the expected 2018 midterm election rout to category 3, 4 or 5 hurricane winds. In other words, he’s expecting a shellacking.
McConnell said, “This is going to be a challenging election year. We know the wind is going to be in our face. We don’t know whether it’s going to be a Category 3, 4 or 5,” Kentucky Today reports.
“I’m hoping we can hold the Senate,” he said, “And the principle reason for that, even if we were to lose the House and be stymied legislatively, we could still approve appointments, which is a huge part of what we do,” McConnell said.
Um, it sounds like Mitch is expecting a rout of the House and possibly the Senate come November. I am hopeful that Democrats will take both chambers. You know Donald Trump will be impeached for sure.
Democrats have flipped more than 36 seats, some in red, red districts in a slew of special elections since Donald Trump’s inauguration. The latest was Judge Rebecca Dallet flipping a seat on the Wisconsin supreme court.
