Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) dismisses questions about Trump’s family separation policy as the “current shiny object of the day” and was upset when asked about the barbaric policy during a press conference.

CNN’s Manu Raju tweeted:  “At presser with GOP senators on a spending cut package, gets bombarded by questions about separation of children at border. He jumps in, says he wants to focus on the debt crisis and not see his press conference hijacked by the “current shiny object of the day.”

CBS News reports, Perdue became”visibly frustrated with a question about the separation of immigrant children from their parents at the southern border during a press conference on spending and the debt Tuesday, saying the press conference’s focus was the debt, not the “current shiny object of the day.”

As a resident of Georgia, I am appalled at Perdue for making such a callous statement. He is a father and possibly a grandfather. I know he wouldn’t want his family to be separated either.

I’ve tried to call both Georgia senators phone numbers and the calls are not going through. Gee, I wonder why they’re hiding? Feckless scumbags.
