British PM Theresa May’s government is rocked by turmoil as Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson resigns. He is the third high ranking official to quit in 24 hours amid May’s Brexit decision, which he slammed as “polishing a turd.” Brexit may not happen at all with the latest resignations.
May’s office issued a statement on Boris Johnson’s resignation: “This afternoon, the Prime Minister accepted the resignation of Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary. His replacement will be announced shortly. The Prime Minister thanks Boris for his work.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin couldn’t have scripted the chaos in Europe and the U.S. any better. I think he outdid himself this time. Donald Trump is attacking European allies and threatening to impose tariffs and destabilize the region, while embracing dictators like Putin.
Brexit secretary David Davis and the second in charge at the Department for Exiting the EU, Steve Baker, also resigned. It will be hard to see how May holds on to power and not be forced out of office due to a no-confidence vote.
Labor deputy leader Tom Watson said: “Theresa May’s Government is in meltdown. This is complete and utter chaos. The country is at a standstill with a divided and shambolic Government. The Prime Minister can’t deliver Brexit and has zero authority left.”
The British pound plunged on news of Johnson’s resignation, which comes days before Donald Trump is set to visit the United Kingdom.

Reaction on Twitter to Boris Johnson’s resignation:
A dishonest conman with a ridiculous haircut just resigned from the government because negotiations didn’t go his way. Boris Johnson, not Donald Trump, but it was fun to daydream for a second.

Boris Johnson has resigned due to BREXIT.
Trump has placed tariffs on U.S. western allies.
Republicans have embraced Russia in all capacities.
Right now, Vladimir Putin is preparing to have his picture taken in front of a banner that says "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!"

This country has been wrecked by the playground rivalry between two lying, self-serving, mediocre old Etonians and held hostage to a handful of swivel-eyed Tory jingoists throwing a tantrum because they lost the empire. Boris Johnson is a dangerous embarrassment. Sack the lot.

Boris Johnson is one of the most malignant forces in British politics. He's a grubby charlatan who's demeaned every office he's ever held

Boris Johnson’s resignation may well sink the Tories. This is a Prime Minister with no control, she can’t be trusted with Brexit, we need a general election, and we need one now. #GE2018Now #PeoplesElection

Boris Johnson resigned.
I feel like crazy haired idiots who used Russia to undermine their government and betray their country resigning is totally a trend that 2018 needs.
