Carjacking suspect Anthony Stokes, 17, dies after police chase and striking a pedestrian in Roswell, Ga., Tuesday afternoon.
Stokes gained national attention when he was denied a heart transplant because of “a history on non-compliance,” which included brushes with the law. During his journey in 2013, he asked for a second chance. It would seem that he didn’t learn from the error of his ways.
Police say Anthony Stokes carjacked a Honda from Perimeter Mall, then shot at an elderly woman during a burglary attempt on Alpine Drive in Roswell.
The pedestrian he struck has been identified as Clementina Hernandez, 33, of Roswell.
Police chased Anthony Stokes after spotting him on Alpharetta Highway following the attempted burglary.
In 2013, Stokes told WSB-TV’s Jovita Moore, that “the heart transplant would help straighten out his life.” “So I can live a second chance. Get a second chance and do things I want to do,” Anthony Stokes said.
