Bianca Tanner, 31, disappeared from her Charlotte home on June 7. Her 3-year-old son told police he hadn’t seen his mother, a teacher with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, since her boyfriend “kicked mommy’s butt and made her cry,” WSOC-TV reports.
Angelo Smith, Tanner’s boyfriend, told investigators they had an argument when she was drunk before she left the apartment carrying a bag.
Bianca Tanner’s disappearance is no longer being treated as a missing person case, but has now turned into a homicide investigation, after cops spoke with her son.
The unidentified child told police, “Mommy got a spanking with a belt.” He also told police, “Angelo is mean to mommy and hurt mommy in the face.”
Angelo Smith has an outstanding warrant in Arkansas for domestic battery. He is accused of trying to smother his girlfriend during a fight. He was not named as a suspect in Bianca Tanner’s disappearance.
