STAND YOUR GROUND: Another nut in Florida is trying to invoke the Stand Your Ground law after he shot another man in St. Petersburg. Randall White got upset at the long wait time for his order at a Little Caesars store at 3463 Fourth Street N, and another man in the l ine, Michael Jock, admonished him for his verbal outburst.

The police said a shoving match ensued and when Randall White raised his fist, Michael Jock pulled out a .38 Taurus Ultralight Special Revolver and fired one round, hitting him in the lower torso. The gun discharged again as the two men tussled, again hitting White in the same area, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

When the police arrived at the scene, Jock told officers the shooting was justified under “stand your ground,” police spokesman Mike Puetz told the newspaper. Police did not believe that such force was necessary and arrested Michael Jock on a charge of aggravated batter with a weapon and shooting within a building. He was released on $20,000 bail.

Outpouring of Grief at Viewing of Teen Jordan Russell Davis Killed by Michael David Dunn Over Loud Music

Many brought to tears at Jordan Russell Davis’ viewing in Jacksonville. He was killed senselessly by a trigger-happy man,  Michael David Dunn, whose judgment was quite possibly clouded by alcohol. His lawyer Robin Lemonidis claims a shotgun was pointed at him, but the cops didn’t find any weapons in the SUV Davis was riding in.  The defense team will try to impugn the reputation of this young man, as George Zimmerman has done through his defense lawyers and friends, to sully the name of Trayvon Martin, who he senselessly murdered.

Davis’ accused shooter, 45-year-old Michael David Dunn, waived his first court appearance in Jacksonville Wednesday morning after being extradited Tuesday from Brevard County. The Melbourne man was charged with second-degree murder.

Dunn’s attorney, Robin Lemonidis, also of Melbourne, stated her client “absolutely” saw someone with a shotgun in the red sport-utility vehicle next to his car at the convenience store that night.

Lemonidis has said Dunn fired in self-defense and it will be shown that he “acted appropriately.” She would only say that “we’ll see” if Florida’s Stand Your Ground law would be part of her defense.

Dunn’s next court appearance will be Dec. 19. He is being held in the Duval County jail without bail. Source

Michael David Dunn’s attorney may try to invoke the “Stand Your Ground” law to try to seek for a dismissal of the case or a not-guilty verdict when the case is litigated, but there are witnesses to Mr. Dunn’s claim that he saw a gun, which led him to fire his gun, even at a moving vehicle, after he approached the teens asking them to turn down their loud music. I am amazed that little is being made of the reckless behavior displayed by Michael David Dunn — firing into a vehicle with other occupants, with no regard for one or more of the occupants being shot.

Michael David Dunn, who was arrested on murder charges in the death of unarmed black teen Jordan Russell Davis, seems to be pulling a fast one. His lawyer, Robin Lemonidis, now claims the reason he fired his gun was because someone in the SUV in which the teen sat pulled a gun. Um, one problem with that — the cops who searched the vehicle didn’t find one.

“He acted the way any responsible firearms owner would act in a similar situation because a shotgun was aimed at him,” she said. Jacksonville police said no weapon was found in the car.

“How hard did they look,” Lemonidis said. “Have they done an entire search?”

Lemonidis, who will be in Jacksonville Wednesday when her client makes his first appearance in a Jacksonville courtroom, said Dunn is “devastated that anyone was harmed in this instance.” Source

How does Michael David Dunn think he can give a flimsy excuse as to why he pulled his gun and fired on an unarmed teen on the basis of “Stand Your Ground?” And with a straight face at that?  Now the defense and Dunn’s supporters are going to tear down the victim, who wasn’t armed.

Another unarmed black teen has died under suspicious circumstances in Florida, months after Trayvon Martin was killed by George Zimmerman in central Florida. Jordan Russell Davis was killed by Michael David Dunn, the 45 year old vice president of Dunn & Dunn Data Systems in Vero Beach, who was reportedly in Jacksonville for his son’s wedding last weekend.

Jordan Russell Davis, 17, and several other teenagers were sitting in a sport utility vehicle in the parking lot when Dunn pulled up next to them in a car and asked them to turn down their music, [Jacksonville sheriff’s Lt. Rob] Schoonover said.

Jordan and Dunn exchanged words, and Dunn pulled a gun and shot eight or nine times, striking Jordan twice, Schoonover said. Jordan was sitting in the back seat. No one else was hurt.Dunn’s attorney Monday said her client acted responsibly and in self-defense. She did not elaborate. Source

Michael David Dunn is invoking the “Stand Your Ground” law that was used by George Zimmerman as his defense for shooting Trayvon Martin in Sanford nearly nine months ago. Dunn was arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder. He is being held without bail. Jordan Russell Davis’ funeral will take place on December 1.

I am trying to figure out how this shooting could be deemed as in self-defense when Jordan Russell Davis was seated in the back of a SUV and not face to face with Michael David Dunn. Retaliating over trash-talking doesn’t rise to the level of self-defense.
