Americans United Release Ads Blasting GOP for “Tea Party Shutdow (DonkeyHotey)

TEA PARTY SHUTDOWN:  Americans United for Change has released a series of ads blasting 10 House Republicans who “continue to throw out absurd ransom demands in exchange for doing their job and keeping the government functioning.”

The government shutdown, engineered by Tea Party extremists in the House over defunding Obamacare, is in its ninth day, with no end in sight.

Brad Woodhouse, president of Americans United said “refusing to support clean legislation to keep the government open at the 11th hour was the act of extortionist Tea Party Republicans plain and simple.”

The Republicans targeted in the ads are: Tom Latham (R-IA), Richard Hanna (R-NY), Dan Benishek (R-MI), Lou Barletta (R-PA), Jeff Denham (R-CA), Tim Walberg (R-MI), Sean Duffy (R-WI7), Bill Johnson (R-OH6), Andy Barr (R-KY), and Rodney Davis (R-IL).

House GOP to Vote to Raise Debt Ceiling for Three Months

House Republicans will vote next week to raise the debt ceiling for three months and it will include a provision that would stop pay for members of Congress if the Senate doesn’t pass a budget, GOP officials said. So much for a rogue group of House GOP members holding the country hostage to get their way.

This comes as Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) said Congress won’t allow the country to default. Um, that’s not what was being pushed by some members of his party.

Um, are they finally beginning to see that President Obama isn’t a monarch after all but was given a mandate by the people in November 2012 election? In other words, they caved to Obama. But in all seriousness, why three months? Why can’t this be set for a long enough period of time so that it won’t be a problem in the very near future?
