Drudge Report Compares President Obama to Richard Nixon in Fast and Furious Executive Privilege Flap

The Drudge Report President Obama to former president Richard Nixon in the “Fast and Furious” scandal after the White House assertsxecutive privilege in refusing to release documents to Rep. Darrell Issa. This is as the  House continues with contempt hearing against Attorney General Eric Holder. It’s hilarious that Matt Drudge and the right wing is foaming at the mouths, when they didn’t seem to care with former president George W. Bush invoked executive privilege many times during his administration. Is “Fast and Furious” similar to Watergate?

Rasmussen Poll Shows Obama Trailing Mitt Romney by 7 Points, Backlash from Supporting Gay Marriage?

BACKLASH? A new Rasmussen poll finds President Obama trailing Mitt Romney by 7 percentage points. Could this be the beginning of a backlash against his endorsement of gay marriage? Of course, the Drudge Report is running with this. Not surprised. It’s safe to say that most blacks don’t support the president on this endorsement. While I believe marriage is between one man and one woman, I don’t have a bone in this dogfight, so it’s not my place to tell a gay man that he can’t love another gay man unconditionally and get married. He has a right to happiness as I am.

What I find most displeasing is the fact that President Obama continues to take the black community for granted. If he had done half as much for the black community as he has done for the gay community then I wouldn’t be willing to throw him under a bus for endorsing gay marriage. It seems to me that he did because he was cornered by the right wing after Joe Biden, either misspoke or was sent on “Meet the Press” to lay the groundwork for his endorsement during ABC News interview. Obama just slapped the black community in its face once again using “calculated courage” to the benefit of the gay community. Are you willing to stand with him? I suspect many will because they have been trained to do so.

Well, let me publicly state today, I won’t be one of those people supporting him in November, unless the president devotes some attention to the needs of the black and Latino communities.  To all my black readers, are you going to just roll over and let the Obama Administration and the Democratic Party continue to ignore you or are you going to fight like the gay community does for its rights? Hey Mr. President, since Sasha and Malia Obama are so up on what’s going on in the gay community where same-sex marriage is concerned, what have they been telling you about helping the black community?

Rasmussen Poll Shows Obama Trailing Mitt Romney by 7 Points, Backlash from Supporting Gay Marriage?

This poll comes as Bill Clinton reportedly called President Obama an “amateur.” Um, well, that’s according to Edward Klein’s new biography of President Obama, entitled “The Amateur” (title taken from Bill Clinton’s comment). He claims Bill Clinton thought so little of  Obama, mocking him as an amateur, that he last summer, he pressed his wife to quit her job as secretary of state and challenge him in the primaries. Er, didn’t Bill Clinton campaign with Obama recently?

First Lady Michelle Obama: “Fantasy is to Walk Out of the White House and Keep Walking”

First Lady Michelle Obama: ”It is hard to sneak around and do what you want,” Michelle Obama said today. “I have done it a couple of times. But you know one fantasy I have, and the Secret Service they keep looking at me because they think I might actually do it, is to walk right out the front door and just keep walking.”

With that said, the right will twist her words to mean she doesn’t want her husband to win reelection and she’s that angry black woman who hates to be in the White House because she isn’t so proud of her country. Yeah, you know what I mean. In actuality, I think she means she is very confined in what she does and has no freedom to just go for a walk alone, for example. Of course, added to this is the fact that her Spain vacation cost taxpayers over $460,000, so yeah, the right wing would love to see her go away, since Laura Bush, Barbara Bush and Nancy Reagan spent considerably less on their vacations. Of course, I’m being sarcastic.

DRUDGE REPORT GOES AFTER PRESIDENT OBAMA FOR EATING DOG MEAT:  The Drudge Report is leading this morning with a caption that as a boy, President Obama ate dog meat. Why is this so newsworthy? It wasn’t a secret because he wrote it in his best-selling memoir, “Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance,” in which he recalls being fed dog meat as a young boy in Indonesia by his stepfather Lolo Soetoro. Um, if I’m not mistaken, there are some cultures that also feast on cats, so what’s the point? Oh, wait, I guess they are trying to shut down any attacks from the Obama camp against Mitt Romney transporting his dog in a crate on top of his car.

Here’s an excerpt from the Daily Caller:

“With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chill peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy),” the president wrote. “Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. He explained that a man took on the powers of whatever he ate: One day soon, he promised, he would bring home a piece of tiger meat for us to share.” After his mother married Soetoro, Obama lived in Indonesia from 1967 until 1971, from roughly the age of 6 through 10.

I guess it’s lost on the right wing that our “friends” in China regularly feast on dog meat. SMH. It’s pretty repulsive to me, but he didn’t just go into a butcher shop and pick some up himself. It was given to him as a child.

The Drudge Report goes after Rick Santorum for endorsing Mitt Romney in 2008. Yeah, his words are coming back to bite him in the butt. Approximately 1,504 days ago, Rick Santorum strongly endorsed Mitt Romney for the presidential nomination instead of John McCain saying, that if you wanted a conservative as the nominee of the Republican Party, “you must vote for Mitt Romney.” Well, nobody should be surprised. We all know Rick Santorum literally talks out of his ass.

“Satan has his sights on the United States of America!” Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has declared.

“Satan is attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity, and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that has so deeply rooted in the American tradition.”

The former senator from Pennsylvania warned in 2008 how politics and government are falling to Satan.

“This is a spiritual war. And the Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, influential country – the United States of America. If you were Satan, who would you attack in this day and age?”

“He attacks all of us and he attacks all of our institutions.”

Drudge Report, White House Dossier Go After Michelle Obama for Spending Presidents’ Day Weekend in Aspen

The White House Dossier and The Drudge Report are going after First Lady Michelle Obama for opting to spend her vacation in Aspen, Colo., with her daughters. What’s irking the right is that she had just returned last month from a 17-day vacation in Hawaii. Michelle Obama spent last Presidents’ Day weekend in Vail, so this seems to be a tradition of sorts. I will concede the point that given the economic struggles most Americans are enduring, these lavish vacations are over-the-top, but this should go for all First Ladies, not just Michelle Obama.

White House Dossier: Michelle’s decision to ski out West again instead of hitting slopes closer to Washington would seem an inopportune choice for a first lady who is helping her husband campaign on issues of “fairness.”

The Obama campaign has set itself up as the defender of the poor and the middle class against the “One Percent,” a theme which clashes with the image a first lady who is taking frequent and exclusive vacations.

Just last August, she sojourned on Martha’s Vineyard, and the month before she travelled to southern Africa for a trip that mixed official business with tourist outings like an African safari. In July 2010, she took an exorbitant excursion to the southern coast of Spain, flying out with friends and family on a large jet that often serves as Air Force 2 and then staying at a ritzy hotel.

To be fair, I would expect cost-cutting measures and austerity to also come from the White House, not just Main Street. I understand the president and his family will go on vacations, but we don’t need to hear the elitist labels being tagged on to the Obamas because of lavish trips. On the flip-side, this isn’t just about the Obamas, it also includes members of Congress and past administrations. White House Dossier is very disingenuous because the mission of the website is to slam President Obama and his family. I am pretty sure the White House Dossier wasn’t hen-pecking former presidents George W. Bush, for example.

The Drudge Report continues it Obama-hating ways by going after Michelle Obama engaging in a “fitness challenge” with “Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon in the White House. Matt Drudge just can’t help himself when it comes to the Obamas. He derided the photo option under the caption, “Play Time at the White House.” I might also add, Mrs. Obama beat Jimmy Fallon, so score one for the ladies. The fitness challenge was in celebration of her “Let’s Move!” campaign to curb childhood obesity. In an official photo provided by the White House Michelle Obama is seen competing in a tug-of-war with Fallon in the Diplomatic Reception Room. Michelle Obama and Jimmy Fallon also hula hooped, did push-ups and ran around the White House.

Drudge Report Continues Attack on Newt Gingrich: Pat Buchanan Says Reagan White House Saw Him as a “Political Opportunist”

The Drudge Report continues its attack on Newt Gingrich, linking to more Republicans unloading on the presidential hopeful. Pat Buchanan, who has credibility issues of his own, says the Reagan White House saw Newt Gingrich as a “political opportunist” and someone who was “not trusted.” Um, this is the same Newt Gingrich who Nancy Reagan said her husband passed the baton to. Either Nancy Reagan has dementia or she didn’t know as much about the Reagan White House as she claimed.

“[I]n the Reagan White House, Newt Gingrich was considered quite frankly by a lot of folks to be something of a political opportunist and who was not trusted and who had played no role whatsoever,” Buchanan said. “He was a Rockefeller Republican in the great Goldwater-Rockefeller battle, where conservatism came of age.”

Buchanan also theorized that Gingrich stumbled in two debates this week because he was caught off guard by all these people who turned on him.

“I do think this, though. Newt has been pounded merciously,” Buchanan said. “He had people he worked with basically turn on him and dump on him down there in Florida, which somehow I think may have had some role in the fact that the great fighter and battler of South Carolina had no fight in him whatsoever in the Monday and Thursday debates in Florida.’

“He let Mitt Romney punch him silly. And he has lost all his momentum. And John, I’m not going to make any predictions because I thought the battler of South Carolina would win Florida, but Romney is surging and it looks like Romney may win Florida.
