Tucker Carlson: Media Matters Memo Sought to Hire Private Investigators to Probe Fox News Employees Personal Lives (Wikipedia)

Tucker Carlson is on a mission to call out liberal news site Media Matters and its shady news reporting practices, citing a memo that sought to hire private investigators to look into the personal lives of Fox News employees. But, is anyone taking a look at Andrew Breitbart’s sites and Newsbusters affiliation with the right? Here’s an excerpt from the Daily Caller:

A little after 1 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2009, Karl Frisch emailed a memo to his bosses, Media Matters for America founder David Brock and president Eric Burns. In the first few lines, Frisch explained why Media Matters should launch a “Fox Fund” whose mission would be to attack the Fox News Channel.

“Simply put,” Frisch wrote, “the progressive movement is in need of an enemy. George W. Bush is gone. We really don’t have John McCain to kick around any more. Filling the lack of leadership on the right, Fox News has emerged as the central enemy and antagonist of the Obama administration, our Congressional majorities and the progressive movement as a whole.”

“We must take Fox News head-on in a well funded, presidential-style campaign to discredit and embarrass the network, making it illegitimate in the eyes of news consumers.”

The idea that Media Matters could have looked into hiring private investigators to do some dirty work on another media outlet is unconscionable and is in the same vein as the telephone hacking allegations against Rupert Murdoch’s newspapers in the United Kingdom. I don’t think too many people will cry foul on Media Matters because of the history of Rupert Murdoch and the poor and unbalanced brand of journalism Fox News practices. The expose makes for good reading though.

The latest news is that a Politico reporter withheld information on Media Matters.

GOP Presidential Hopeful Rick Santorum Says “Ron Paul is Disgusting”

Rick Santorum is the gift that just keeps on giving. He told a handful of Fox News and Business reporters Tuesday morning that “Ron Paul is disgusting.” Um, really? He’s just as disgusting for his interventionist and dangerous views. He blamed Ron Paul for Iowa robo calls that claimed he was pro-choice and against the second amendment. Um, wasn’t he the same person who singled out blacks who rely on entitlement programs and talked about the 17th Amendment’s cloture provision? Wait, there’s more. Rick Santorum is also the same person who says states should have the right to outlaw contraceptive methods for women. If you ask me, Rick Santorum is just as disgusting as Ron Paul, if not more disgusting.

Fox News Commentator Brent Bozell Calls Obama “Skinny, Ghetto Crackhead” on Air

Fox News guest commentator Brent Bozell calls President Obama a “skinny, ghetto crackhead” on the air, shouldn’t he be fired and Fox News forced to issue an apology?

Fox News guest commentator Brent Bozell called President Obama a “skinny, ghetto crackhead” on the air. This is a new low for Fox News, which I couldn’t imagine them sinking any lower. If memory serves me correctly, I can’t recall ever hearing former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton denigrated in such a manner about past drug use.

Brent Bozell was up in arms about how MSNBC host Chris Matthews insulted Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich, saying Newt Gingrich ‘looked like a car-bomber’ in a video clip this past March. And you go for the jugular by calling the president a “skinny, ghetto crackhead?”

Brent Bozell should be fired and Fox News forced to apologize for this. This comes on the heels of Cassie Wright, president of the University of Texas College Republicans, tweeting, Obama “snorts crack, holla.” This is typical of the racist rhetoric Fox News perpetuates.

Fox News Pundit Todd Schoenberger – We Need More Hunger in the U.S.

Fox News continues to amaze me at the shallowness exhibited by many of its on-air personalities. The latest, thanks to News Hounds, is a so-called pundit, Todd Schoenberger, saying “we need more hunger” in the U.S. Wow. That just took political hubris to another level.

Fox News Greg Gutfeld Accuses The Nation’s Melissa Harris-Perry Of "Insidious Racism"

Fox News Greg Gutfeld Accuses The Nation’s Melissa Harris-Perry Of “Insidious Racism,” um, really?

I may not agree with everything Melissa Harris-Perry says, but she’s certainly not the “insidious” racist Greg Gutfeld is asserting. That’s just plain wrong.

Bill O’Reilly Backs Public Option "If it Provides Working Americans With an Affordable Option to Other Private Insurance Plans"

Call the paramedics! Bill O’Reilly backs public option “if it provides working Americans with an affordable option to other private insurance plans.” Whoa. That’s a bold declaration for anyone coming from Faux News. As noted by DailyKos’ Jed Lewison, O’Reilly had the following exchange with the Heritage Foundation’s Nina Owcharenko:

O’REILLY: The public option now is done. We discussed this, it’s not going to happen. But you say that this little marketplace that they’re going to set up, whereby the federal government would subsidize insurance for some Americans, that is, in your opinion, a public option?

OWCHARENKO: Well, it has massive new federal regulation. So you don’t necessarily need a public option if the federal government is going to control and regulate the type of health insurance that Americans can buy.

O’REILLY: But you know, I want that, Ms. Owcharenko. I want that. I want, not for personally for me, but for working Americans, to have a option, that if they don’t like their health insurance, if it’s too expensive, they can’t afford it, if the government can cobble together a cheaper insurance policy that gives the same benefits, I see that as a plus for the folks. Well, this is indeed a first. Seriously folks, is Mr. O’Reilly ailing? This certainly isn’t typical for anyone at Fox News to agree with President Obama, except Geraldo Rivera, of course.

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and His BOND Action Group Come Out in Support of Fox News’ Glenn Beck and his Incendiary Comments About President Obama

peterson Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and His BOND Action Group Come Out in Support of Fox News Glenn Beck and his Incendiary Comments About President ObamaBOND Action Inc., an African American cultural action organization, has come out in favor of Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck, who has been under attack for calling President Barack Obama a racist. You will recall that ColorofChange mounted an attack on Beck for his comments and many companies, including Ally Bank, Geico, Sargento Cheese, have stopped advertising on his show. BOND Action, Inc.’s founder and president Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, said it will be working to expose the source behind the boycott and counter it. Wow, why am I not surprised by Rev. Peterson’s actions. This is the same man who would have no qualms about throwing President Obama under a bus on Fox News. Much of Glenn Beck’s ire in this boycott is directed at Van Jones, a co-founder of ColorofChange and the White House environmental advisor.

“Glenn Beck is right, Obama is a racist!” added Rev. Peterson. “Where were the boycotts and outraged activists when President George W. Bush was being falsely maligned as a ‘racist’? This is a blatant double standard. This boycott is an attempt to silence Beck from continuing his expose’ of Barack Obama’s socialist agenda and his radical ‘green jobs czar’ Van Jones.”

Rev. Peterson said, “ColorOfChange.org claims that it exists to ‘strengthen Black America’s political voice’–but it’s clear that they are a left-wing, racist political group that deal in lies. This attempt to silence Beck is an attack on free speech and must be countered.”Source: Christian News Wire

In the spirit of fairness, I must note that ColorOfChange.org’s claims some 33 advertisers have pulled their ads off The Glenn Beck Show, is reportedly exaggerated. The group has had its own issues. It reportedly endorsed ridiculous and inflammatory statements by rapper Kanye West that former President Bush gave troops permission to go to New Orleans and shoot black people during Hurricane Katrina. That was unfounded and just a dirty lie. The chances that Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and his group will blunt the effects of ColorofChange’s campaign is virtually nil. So, Rev., do us a favor, find another cause to fight for instead of being Fox News Channel’s Uncle Tom. I could find a few choice words to describe the so-called reverend, but I’ll leave that to your imagination.

GMAC Financial Services & Wal-Mart Pull Advertising from the Glenn Beck Show

walmartsmiley GMAC Financial Services & Wal Mart Pull Advertising from the Glenn Beck Show Another one bites the dust. GMAC Financial Services and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. have “ceased” advertising on the Glenn Beck show. At least that’s the word from GMAC Financial Services’ spokesperson Sue Mallino, who spoke with Media Matters. Though she would not comment on whether the move was made in response to Beck’s claim that President Obama is a “racist,” an allegation that sparked a grassroots campaign by ColorofChange.org to get advertisers to stop supporting Beck’s program.

ColorofChange is also reporting that, in addition to Wal-Mart, Best Buy, CVS, Travelocity, Allergan (maker of Restasis), Ally Bank, Broadview Security, and Re-Bath have also pulled their advertisements on the show.

GMAC Financial Services joins a growing list of advertisers who have recently opted not to advertise Beck’s television show. The list includes ConAgra, Roche, Sanofi-Aventis, RadioShack, Men’s Wearhouse, State Farm, Sargento, LexisNexis-owned Lawyers.com, Procter & Gamble, and Progressive Insurance.

Glenn Beck Jokes About Putting Poison in Nancy Pelosi’s Wine (VIDEO)

Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck is at it again. This time he jokes about adding poison to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s glass of wine on his show on yesterday. I am no fan of Nancy Pelosi, but suggesting to put poison in her wine is outrageous and Beck is continuing to incite the fringe in the Republican Party.

As the Beck imagined what it would be like to go to a Pelosi fundraiser, a staffer sat across the table from him wearing a Pelosi mask.

As the staffer raised a glass of red wine to her lips, Beck demanded, “Drink it. Drink it. Drink it.”

He then added, “I wanted to thank you for having me over here in wine country… By the way, I put poison in your… No. I look forward to all the policy discussions we’re supposed to have. You know, on health care, energy reform, and the economy. Hey, is that Sean Penn over there?”

I don’t mind the partisan muckraking, but to suggest bodily harm to any political official or anyone for that matter, is just plain wrong. When will News Corp.’s leadership do something about the outrageous behavior of Glenn Beck? Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes will only act when they are pressured to do so. Remember the gorilla cartoon that appeared in the New York Post? Well, Murdoch didn’t issue a statement until it started to get really hot at News Corp. due to the fallout. The same thing needs to happen with Glenn Beck. This is ridiculous. For the record, if this was said by a Democrat against a Republican, I would have the same position — it is just plain wrong.

Glenn Beck Calls President Barack Obama a Racist Over His Comments about Henry Louis Gates’ Arrest by White Officer (VIDEO)

Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck is a lunatic. This morning on Fox and Friends, Beck accused President Obama of being “a racist.” The group was discussing the recent Gates controversy, and Beck exclaimed that Obama has “over and over again” exposed himself as “a guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture. I don’t know what it is…”

When another guest on the program pointed out that many people in Obama’s administration are white, so “you can’t say he doesn’t like white people,” Beck pressed on. “I’m not saying he doesn’t like white people, I’m saying he has a problem,” Beck said. “This guy is, I believe, a racist.” Um, in case Glenn Beck hasn’t noticed, President Obama is half-Caucasian. This is what they pay this idiot millions of dollars for? This is the type of vile garbage that incites the extremists in our country. Well, since he’s making stuff up? How about I call him a racist?
