Police Seeking Search Warrant to Search Rockne Newell’s Property in Ross Township Shooting

The Pocono Record reports Pennsylvania state police at Lehighton are seeking a search warrant to search the property of Rockne Newell in the wake of the Ross Township mass shooting.

Newell is a self-proclaimed junk collector who had come under fire from township officials for keeping a junkyard on his property. According to previous reports, Newell got a building permit from the township to have a storage structure on the property, but then built a dwelling without first getting a zoning permit or certificate of occupancy from the township.

Over the years, authorities have responded to Newell’s property as a result of neighbor complaints and on one occasion in 2009 found human fecal matter in buckets there, according to previous reports in the Pocono Record. The township determined he was improperly disposing of sewage with no septic system or permit for one.

This story is conveniently missing from The Drudge Report. I’m not surprised, since it doesn’t fit in their usual race-baiting slant.

New York Newspapers, Including the Conservative NY Post, Slam NRA’s Wayne LaPierre with Brutal Covers

New York newspapers slammed the National Rifle Association after Wayne LaPierre’s vile comments just 90 minutes after the country observed a moment of silence in commemoration of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting massacre that occurred Dec. 14.The New York Times was also brutal in its assessment of the hot mess that unfolded before our eyes on Friday when Wayne LaPierre blamed everyone else for the Newtown shooting massacre — Hollywood, the media, music videos, movies, President Obama, politicians — but not the NRA or the fact that there are far too many assault weapons in our country.

The New York Times:  “Mr. LaPierre looked wild-eyed at times as he said the killing was the fault of the media, songwriters and singers and the people who listen to them, movie and TV scriptwriters and the people who watch their work, advocates of gun control, video game makers and video game players.”

….He wants volunteer and professional firefighters, who already risk their lives every day, to be charged with thwarting an assault by a deranged murderer. The same applies to paramedics, security guards, veterans, retired police officers. “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” Mr. LaPierre said.

It’s pretty telling when even Rupert Murdoch’s conservative rag the New York Post slammed Wayne LaPierre as a “loon” and a “gun nut:”

President Obama talked about gun control in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting massacre that claimed the lives of 20 children and six teachers in Newtown, CT, last Friday. He set a January deadline for gun control proposal. He appointed Vice President Joe Biden to led the commission charged with coming up with a set of proposals. He urged Congress to vote early 2013 to ban assault weapons, high capacity magazines & gun show background check loophole. Um, I dare the Republicans to play politics with the lives of innocent people.

President Obama’s comments comes as adulterer Newt Gingrich blames the Newtown school shooting on an “anti-religious” secular government. Um, another self-righteous windbag. He told host Brian Thomas of 55KRC:

When you have an anti-religious, secular bureaucracy and secular judiciary seeking to drive God out of public life, something fills the vacuum. And that something, you know, I don’t know that going from communion to playing war games in which you practice killing people is necessarily an improvement.
