Santorum Staffer Jamie Johnson Says "Women Shouldn't Be President, It's Against God's Will" (Wikipedia)

Well, isn’t it interesting that racism isn’t the only accusation leveled against some conservatives, sexism is also a big problem. The Des Moines Register wrote an article about the reasons why Michele Bachmann’s campaign fizzled and points to  “sexism among conservatives,” singling out an offensive email written by Santorum staffer Jamie Johnson, Thin Progress reports:

Rival presidential candidate Rick Santorum’s Iowa coalitions director, Jamie Johnson, sent out an email saying that children’s lives would be harmed if the nation had a female president. […]

The question then comes, ‘Is it God’s highest desire, that is, his biblically expressed will, … to have a woman rule the institutions of the family, the church, and the state?’ ” Johnson’s email said. Source: Think Progress

Of course, Rick Santorum being the uniter that he calls himself hasn’t bothered to publicly disavow the statements contained in the email or terminate Jamie Johnson. Rick Santorum is also the same guy who wants states to outlaw contraceptives for women. Pretty much sums up the kind of president he would be — do as I say but not as I do, with all the self-righteousness added on top.

It was also very interesting to learn Rick Santorum’s wife Karen Santorum dated Tom Allen, who was an obstetrician and abortion provider before she hooked up with her husband. Allen was also 40 years older. The two actually lived together throughout most of her twenties. Actually, Tom Allen has known her all her life. He delivered her at birth, then known as Karen Garver.
