An arrest warrant has been issued for hero cop, Richard DeCoastworth, who received high praise from Vice President Joe Biden and he even got to sit next to First Lady Michelle Obama during 2009 State of the Union address by President Obama. That was actually his first SOTU speech after his historic win in the 2008 general elections.

The arrest warrant is for an incident in which he allegedly threatened a woman in Port Richmond last week, NBC Philadelphia reports.

He is best known for an incident in 2007 when he was a rookie officer in which he was shot in the face. DeCoatsworth managed to chase down the suspect for several blocks before collapsing. He called in enough information by radio that police were able to track down and arrest the suspect later the same day. Source

Besides sitting next to Michelle Obama during the SOTU address, Richard DeCoastsworth was also honored by his peers as a 2008 Top Cop.  Seems like Richard DeCoatsworth ended his career on a sour note.

President Barack Obama Throws VP Joe Biden Under the Bus

VP Joe Biden has put his foot in his mouth again. His “there’s still a 30 percent chance we’re going to get it wrong” quote is put straight to President Barack Obama during the White House press conference last night and he seemed to want to say: “Vice-President Who?”

As reporters started snickering, Obama came close to conceding that Biden was indeed a joke. “You know, I don’t remember exactly what Joe was referring to, not surprisingly.” I am still wondering, after all this time, what was the logic behind President Obama selecting Joe Biden, ‘gaffe machine extraordinaire, as his vice president.

President Obama went on to say that “I think what Joe may have been suggesting, although I wouldn’t ascribe any numerical percentage to any of this, is that given the magnitude of the challenges that we have, any single thing that we do is going to be part of the solution, not all of the solution.” Hello, Biden was saying nothing of the sort and Obama knew that, just like the rest of us.

Biden’s exact quote, which was read out by Faux News’ Major Garrett at the presser was: “If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, if we stand up there and we really make the tough decisions, there’s still a 30 percent chance we’re going to get it wrong.” Joe Biden has loose lips, the kind that can do some serious damage. Folks, we should all get used to President Obama explaining “what Joe may have been suggesting.” Geez, I wonder if we have another Dan Quayle on our hands? Hmmm.

Dr. Jill Biden Says Joe Biden had His Choice of VP or Secretary of State Position, She Committed a Major Faux Paus

jill+biden Dr. Jill Biden Says Joe Biden had His Choice of VP or Secretary of State Position, She Committed a Major Faux Paus
Normally, Joe Biden is the one to put his foot in his mouth, but this may be a family thing, after all. Today during an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” Jill Biden took those honors. She said that her husband had the choice of being Barack Obama’s running mate or the secretary of state. Really Jill, did you have to say that?

“Joe had the choice to be secretary of state or vice president,” she said. Her husband turned to his wife with his finger to his lips and a “Shhhh!” that sent the audience into laughter. “OK, he did,” Jill Biden said in her defense. Source: The Huffington Post

Joe Biden blushed, grimaced, squirmed and gave his wife a hug while the audience continued to erupt in laughter. Yep, he and his wife just proved that you can’t tell them any secrets. “That’s right,” he finally said to his wife. “Go ahead.” Mrs. Biden said she told him vice president would be better for the family.”If you’re secretary of state, you’ll be away, we’ll never see you, you know,” she said. “I’ll see you at a state dinner once in a while.”

Of course, amnesia set in after the show as Biden spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander denied Jill Biden’s account in a statement e-mailed to reporters. “To be clear, President-elect Obama offered Vice President-elect Biden one job only — to be his running mate,” the statement said. “And the vice president-elect was thrilled to accept the offer.” Psst, President Obama, you can’t tell Joe Biden any secrets. He or his wife will blurt it out!

Barack Obama described as Prophet Moses by Bishop Cornal Garnett Henning

moses Barack Obama described as Prophet Moses by Bishop Cornal Garnett Henning According to the U.K. Telegraph newspaper, Bishop Cornal Garnett Henning, who offered a prayer before a rally in Columbus, Ohio, compared Barack Obama to Moses and Martin Luther King in the same breath. He thanked God for having “given us a Moses and a Martin called Barack Obama” and asked the Almighty to “grant that we together this nation under God may have the will to bring about the change we need” and ensure that “those who cast their sacred vote will not be deprived this right”. You do remember that the McCain campaign mocked Obama as a Moses figure in an ad entitled “the One” in August.

Michelle Obama said that “there’s this beautiful thing about my husband.” “He thinks he can really do everything, he does, with his own power and will.” She continued: “Barack has built one of the most powerful political organizations, recruiting folks from all different kinds of backgrounds. In addition to that, he has built one of the most powerful political fundraising machines that has raised millions and broken records, not just with big donations but with folks writing $5 cheques, $10, $20, $30 cheques.

“Barack has selected a phenomenal running mate in Joe Biden. Barack has helped unify a party that some said could not be unified. He’s participated in three national debates and has been outstanding in every single one of them. “And to top it off, he has done it, if I might just brag a bit, with a level of grace and poise and honesty and respect and consistency.”

A very close family friend who resides in Jamaica, told my mother several weeks ago that Barack Obama reminded her of Moses. Not because he exudes charisma, but his ability to rally so many people to vote and work for his organization. She also said that he has a calming spirit in the face of relentless criticism and attacks from the right wing. She also said Moses as able, with all his faults, to become one of the greatest people in biblical times. So, too, will Barack Obama become one of the greatest people in our time. He has shown our young black males that it is okay to hope and strive for greatness, even run for the highest office in this country. I have to echo the sentiments of the young man hawking his t-shirts at the rally, “In Obama we trust,” for new hope in America and a new sense of respect throughout the world, should he prevail in the elections tomorrow. To be honest, I wouldn’t go as far as comparing him to Moses, but I will say that he is a transformational leader who knows how to rally the troops. That says a lot in my book.

Sarah Palin Says Obama’s Tax Plans Could Mean Nightmare Communist State

There’s a Palin insurgency in the McCain campaign and it is getting crazier by the minute. Well, the latest drama comes courtesy of the “pitbull with lipstick.” Sarah Palin once again put her feet in her mouth during a campaign stop in Des Moines, Iowa. The jaw-dropping moment came when this idiot drew a connection between Barack Obama’s tax policy and an encroaching, nightmarish communist government. Wow, this must have really stoked John McCain’s anger. She said that Obama would, through his proposals create a country “where the people are not free.”

“See, under a big government, more tax agenda, what you thought was yours would really start belonging to somebody else, to everybody else. If you thought your income, your property, your inventory, your investments were, were yours, they would really collectively belong to everybody. Obama, Barack Obama has an ideological commitment to higher taxes, and I say this based on his record… Higher taxes, more government, misusing the power to tax leads to government moving into the role of some believing that government then has to take care of us. And government kind of moving into the role as the other half of our family, making decisions for us. Now, they do this in other countries where the people are not free. Let us fight for what is right. John McCain and I, we will put our trust in you.”

Well, I can tell you one thing, this woman has clearly lost her marbles. This is a bare-faced lie and she ought to be called on it, as she always says of Barack Obama and Joe Biden. What a meltdown.

Gwen Ifill, VP Debate Moderator, Releasing Pro-Obama Book Co-Inciding With Inauguration

gwen Gwen Ifill, VP Debate Moderator, Releasing Pro Obama Book Co Inciding With Inauguration I can see the dust-up coming from vice presidential debate moderator Gwen Ifill’s new book. The book focuses on blacks who are “forging a bold new path to political power,” but I am sure the right wing won’t care much about that. So, she has a book coming out? Is there a perceived conflict of interest afoot here? There might very well be. I understand the premise of her book, but if there appears to be some conflict of interest, then it would be in her best interest to have someone else moderate the debate.
According to World Net Daily, Ifill is writing a book to come out about the time the next president takes the oath of office that aims to “shed new light” on Democratic candidate Barack Obama and others. Gwen Ifill of the Public Broadcasting Service program “Washington Week” is promoting “The Breakthrough,” in which she argues the “black political structure” of the civil rights movement is giving way to men and women who have benefited from the struggles over racial equality.

She has faced criticism before for not being “fair” to Republican candidates. During a vice-presidential candidate debate she moderated in 2004 – when Democrat John Edwards attacked Republican Dick Cheney’s former employer, Halliburton – the vice president said, “I can respond, Gwen, but it’s going to take more than 30 seconds.” “Well, that’s all you’ve got,” she told Cheney. I can’t see how mean she was being to Cheney. The fact still remained that all he had was 30 seconds.

She also was cited in complaints PBS Ombudsman Michael Getler said he received after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin delivered her nomination acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., earlier this month. Some viewers complained of a “dismissive” look by Ifill during her report on Palin’s speech. According to Getler, some also said she wore a look of “disgust” while reporting on the Republican candidate. She’s not the only one who has been disgusted to with Gov. Sarah Palin. Many conservatives are piling on that bandwagon.

She told BlackAmericaWeb.com about the upcoming Biden-Palin debate that she thinks debates “are the best opportunity most voters have to see the candidates speaking to issues.” She said she is concerned only about getting straight answers from candidates.”Four years ago, when neither John Edwards nor Dick Cheney proved capable of answering a question about the domestic epidemic of AIDS among African-American women, viewers flooded me with reaction,” she said.

In an online video promoting her book, she is enthusiastic about “taking the story of Barack Obama and extending it.” The book focuses on four people, “one of them Barack Obama of course,” she said.”They are changing our politics and changing our nation,” she said. She also describes how she met him at the 2004 Democratic convention and since then has interviewed the Illinois senator and his family. She also boasted that by the time of the debate, “I’ll be a complete expert on both” Palin and Biden.

Here we go, the right wing slinging mud, which may or may not be warranted, depending on who you ask. Let’s see where this goes……

Gov. Sarah Palin Stumbles Over Foreign Policy Questions in Interview with Katie Couric

Is this who you want to be a heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States of America? A person who bungled a simple question about her foreign policy experience? Hah. The love affair with Gov. Sarah Palin is being to wear off and people are beginning to see that she has no clue on much of anything. Well, I take that back. She’s a accomplished Annie Oakley type, who also knows how to hunt and make mooseburgers. Oh yes, let me not forget, she spearheaded the Road to Nowhere that is still waiting on the Bridge to Nowhere, that she supposedly said no to.

Gov. Sarah Palin’s interview with Katie Couric has already provided several head scratching moments and it was clear that she either did not prepare for this or she really has no clue and was talking in circles. Why aren’t people more critical of her candidacy? Geez, if this is the best the Republicans can do, then Barack Obama and gaffe-machine Joe Biden will prevail on November 4, unless of course, John McCain pulls another stunt to delay the elections.

The segment of the interview the Democrats are pointing to involves an utterly simplistic take on the Israeli-Iranian relations that makes emanates of Bushism.

“We don’t have to second-guess what [Israel's] efforts would be if they believe that it is in their country and their allies, including us, all of our best interests to fight against a regime, especially Iran, who would seek to wipe them off the face of the earth,” Palin said when asked – playing off an earlier interview – whether the United States should ever second-guess Israeli policy. “It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are. The bad guys are the ones who say Israel is a stinking corpse and should be wiped off the face of the earth. That’s not a good guy who is saying that. Now, one who would seek to protect the good guys in this, the leaders of Israel and her friends, her allies, including the United States. In my world, those are the good guys.” What? She’s a bumbling idiot, plain and simple.

There were other moments that had people up in arms. When Palin said it was “beyond naive” for Barack Obama to say he would meet with the leadership of Iran, Couric asked her if the same description applied to Henry Kissinger, who just this week said the U.S. should negotiate with Iran “without conditions.” Hello, somebody! Seemingly aware, Palin replied, “I’ve never heard Henry Kissinger say, ‘Yeah, I’ll meet with these leaders without preconditions being met.” Wow, even President Bush would have given a better answer than that. Actually Dick Cheney would have too.

Earlier in the day, noise was made about Palin’s continued defense of her claim that Alaska’s geographic proximity to Russia made her well-versed in foreign affairs. This is truly unsettling that Caribou Barbie really thinks she knows what she is talking about. The McCain campaign is in a tailspin and John McCain, is by far, the worst candidate the GOP has ever put up to run, in my recent memory, of course.

Campbell Brown, CNN Anchor, Calling The McCain Campaign Out For Sexism In Its Treatment of Gov. Sarah Palin

The race is heating up indeed. Well, CNN anchor, Campbell Brown, is calling the McCain campaign out for sexism in its treatment of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. “Bear with me for a short rant,” Brown said at the start of a blistering editorial Tuesday, before demanding that the McCain campaign “free (Palin) from the chauvinistic chains you’re binding her with.”"Tonight, I call on the McCain campaign to stop treating Sarah Palin like she is a delicate flower that will wilt at any moment . . . By treating Sarah Palin different from the other candidates in this race, you’re not showing her the respect she deserves.” Hellooo! It is an insult to Gov. Palin that she is not allowed to hold a press conference or even take questions while she is on the campaign trail. What are they afraid of? Okay, I understand why Barack Obama is keeping Joe Biden on a short leash, but if Sarah Palin is such a “mover and shaker,” what is the McCain campaign afraid of?

When asked to respond to Brown’s biting critique Tuesday evening, McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers had no comment. Palin, however, will be making another network TV appearance this week — her third interview with a network, after ABC and FOX — as CBS News anchor Katie Couric interviews her for the evening news airing this evening.

Brown delivered her tirade after John McCain campaign aides tried to ban reporters from covering Palin’s much-touted meetings in New York with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, the Ticket notes, and as the Swamp reported on Palin’s media-free zone as well..”Allow her to face down those pesky reporters, just like Barack Obama did today, just like John McCain did today, just like Joe Biden has done on numerous occasions,” Brown said, suggesting that Palin can hold her own against tough-minded reporters.

“This woman is from Alaska, for crying out loud,” she said. “She is strong. She is tough. She is confident. And you claim she’s ready to be one heartbeat away from the presidency. If that is the case, then end this chauvinistic treatment of her now.”

I wonder what repercussions Campbell Brown will face for her comments? At least she had the guts to do what the other media personalities did not. In early September, after the anchor clashed with McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds over Palin’s foreign policy credentials, the campaign cancelled McCain’s planned interview with Larry King, whose show also broadcasts on CNN. At the time, aides complained that Brown had gone “over the line” in her grilling of Bounds, who it was quite obvious, had no answer for what I consider a very simple question.

Here’s a complete transcript of Brown’s comments on Tuesday:

“But, first, bear with me for a short rant on another subject, because, frankly, I have had it. And I know a lot of other women out there are with me on this. I have had enough of the sexist treatment of Sarah Palin. It has to end.

She was here in New York City today meeting with world leaders at the U.N. And what did the McCain campaign do? They tried to ban reporters from covering those meetings. And they did ban reporters from asking Governor Palin any questions.

Tonight, I call on the McCain campaign to stop treating Sarah Palin like she is a delicate flower that will wilt at any moment. This woman is from Alaska, for crying out loud. She is strong. She is tough. She is confident. And you claim she’s ready to be one heartbeat away from the presidency. If that is the case, then end this chauvinistic treatment of her now. Allow her to show her stuff. Allow her to face down those pesky reporters, just like Barack Obama did today, just like John McCain did today, just like Joe Biden has done on numerous occasions. Let her have a real news conference with real questions.

By treating Sarah Palin different from the other candidates in this race, you’re not showing her the respect she deserves. Free Sarah Palin. Free her from the chauvinistic chains you’re binding her with. Sexism in this campaign must come to an end. Sarah Palin has just as much a right to be a real candidate in this race as the men do. So, let her act like one. We’re going to have more on Palin’s cloistered day coming up in just a moment.”

Economic Fears Give Obama Clear Lead Over McCain in Poll

I am sure that John McCain & Co. will try to spin the latest polls results any way they can, but the facts speak for themselves. America is in a financial quagmire and people don’t want to hear about John McCain’s military experience and Gov. Sarah Palin’s questionable reform track record. You see, Main Street wants the economic mess in this country to be fixed. People are literally one paycheck away from financial disaster.

America is literally a laughingstock to many countries and the turmoil in the financial industry and growing pessimism about the economy have altered the shape of the presidential race. It has given Democratic nominee Barack Obama the first clear lead of the general-election campaign over Republican John McCain, according to the latest Washington Post-ABC News national poll.

According to the poll, just nine percent of those surveyed rated the economy as good or excellent, the first time that number has been in single digits since the days just before the 1992 election. Just 14 percent said the country is heading in the right direction, equaling the record low on that question in polls dating back to 1973.

More voters trust Obama to deal with the economy, and he currently has a big edge as the candidate who is more in tune with the economic problems Americans now face. He also has a double-digit advantage on handling the current problems on Wall Street, and as a result, there has been a rise in his overall support. The poll found that, among likely voters, Obama now leads McCain by 52 percent to 43 percent. Praise God! Two weeks ago, in the days immediately following the Republican National Convention, the race was essentially even, with McCain at 49 percent and Obama at 47 percent.

According to the Washington Post poll, last week’s near-meltdown in the financial markets and the subsequent debate in Washington over a proposed government bailout of troubled financial institutions have made the economy even more important in the minds of voters. Fully 50 percent called the economy and jobs the single most important issue that will determine their vote, up from 37 percent two weeks ago. In contrast, just nine percent cited the Iraq war as their most important issue, its lowest of the campaign.

But voters are cool toward the administration’s initial efforts to deal with the current crisis. Forty-seven percent said they approve of the steps taken by the Treasury and the Federal Reserve to stabilize the financial markets, while 42 percent said they disapprove. Anxiety about the economic situation is widespread. Just over half of the poll respondents — 52 percent — believe the economy has moved into a serious long-term decline. Eight in 10 are concerned about the overall direction of the economy, nearly three-quarters worry about the shocks to the stock market, and six in 10 are apprehensive about their own family finances.

Two weeks ago, McCain held a substantial advantage among white voters, including newfound strength with white women. In the face of bad economic news, the two candidates now run about evenly among white women, and Obama has narrowed the overall gap among white voters to five percentage points. Yeah, when the going gets tough, people start moving to the other side!

The Washington Post’s poll states that much of the movement has come among college-educated whites. Whites without college degrees favor McCain by 17 points, while those with college degrees support Obama by nine points. No Democrat has carried white, college-educated voters in presidential elections dating back to 1980, but they were a key part of Obama’s coalition in the primaries.

The survey also showed some backsliding in enthusiasm among McCain supporters. Overall, most supporters of each presidential candidate said they are enthusiastic about their choice, but 62 percent of Obama supporters said they are “very enthusiastic,” compared with 34 percent of McCain’s supporters. Among Republicans, conservatives and white evangelical Protestants, strong enthusiasm for McCain’s candidacy has dropped by double digits. People are beginning to see that this man has no concept of economics, much less to chart a course for navigating the choppy waters, so to speak.

Independents, key swing voters, now break for Obama, 53 percent to 39 percent, reversing a small lead for McCain after the Republican convention. McCain is the choice of 86 percent of Republicans, while about as many Democrats, 88 percent, back Obama. In the new poll, voters once again gave Obama higher marks than McCain when it comes to dealing with the economy, 53 percent to 39 percent. Two weeks ago, Obama’s edge on the question was a narrow five points, his lowest of the campaign. Among independents, Obama’s advantage on the economy — now 21 points — is greater than at any point in the campaign.

I know the Republicans will try to spin this, but thanks to President Bush, the American economy looks like that of a Third World country. Even Republican senators are rebelling against President Bush’s request for a $700 billion blank check to stem the financial fallout. So, with that in mind, all Barack Obama has to do is keep reminding the American people to follow the money trail and it comes right back to President Bush. I am surprised he has the nerve to show his face in public. Hah!

Joe Biden Says Barack Obama Ad Mocking John McCain Terrible

See, this is why Barack Obama should not have picked Joe Biden as his running mate. The guy spews a lot of crap from his mouth. No wonder they had to agree to the totally ridiculous vice presidential debate format in which the candidates will just stick to the questions they are asked directly and not go back and forth. The guy is liable to say something against Obama. For someone who has been in politics for so long, you would think the guy would have some tact and not openly criticize his running mate.

Biden said that the campaign ad that mocked Republican presidential candidate John McCain as an out-of-touch, out-of-date computer illiterate was “terrible” and would not have been done had he known about it. Really?

Obama, McCain’s Democratic rival, launched the ad earlier this month, part of an aggressive push to slow McCain’s rise in the polls after he chose Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate. It included unflattering footage of Sen. McCain at a hearing in the early ’80s, wearing giant glasses and an out-of-style suit, interspersed with shots of a disco ball, a clunky phone, an outdated computer and a Rubik’s Cube.

“He admits he still doesn’t know how to use a computer, can’t send an e-mail, still doesn’t understand the economy, and favors $200 billion in new tax cuts for corporations, but almost nothing for the middle class,” the ad says.

Late Monday, Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton issued a statement from Biden. In it, Biden said he “was asked about an ad I’d never seen” and was “reacting merely to press reports.” Biden said that, as he said in the interview, there was nothing “intentionally personal” in the criticism of McCain’s views.

“Having now reviewed the ad, it is even more clear to me that given the disgraceful tenor of Sen. McCain’s ads and their persistent falsehoods, his campaign is in no position to criticize, especially when they continue to distort Barack’s votes on an issue as personal as keeping kids safe from sexual predators,” Biden said. People, isn’t this a flip flop? They need to really reign in Joe Biden or else his mouth will get in the way of Obama’s campaign and bid for the White House.
