Right wing blogger Michelle Malkin (who is of Filipino descent) is slamming Obama supporters as “Obama types,” who like to sign the back of checks for the rest of their lives, while “Romney types” sign the front of checks. Um, so Obama supporters are being compared to deadbeats on welfare? Or is she insulting the millions of Obama supporters who are gainfully employed and hardworking? Which is it Michelle Malkin? Wait, wasn’t she being interviewed by the “Fox and Friends” team who actually sign paychecks from Fox News or News Corp? Spewing a lot of venom as usual. There’s a word for people like Michelle Malkin — wannabe. I could think of some other words, but I’ll keep it clean.
George Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, is being called a “racist” over his anti-Mexican MySpace rant. The long abandoned profile includes disparaging comments about Mexicans and Zimmerman’s ex-fiance, though it did show that Zimmerman had black friends. Um, big deal about the black friends. Doesn’t mean he couldn’t have racially profiled Trayvon Martin. Here’s an excerpt from the Daily Mail article:
The Miami Herald revealed the existence of the page, which his lawyer says was abandoned seven years ago.
‘I dont miss driving around scared to hit mexicans walkin on the side of the street, soft a** wanna be thugs messin with peoples cars when they aint around (what are you provin, that you can dent a car when no ones watchin),’ he writes. ’Workin 96 hours to get a decent pay check, gettin knifes pulled on you by every mexican you run into!’
Of course, conservative windbag Michelle Malkin’s new website “Twitchy” doesn’t seen anything wrong with people coming out and calling him a racist. I wonder how would she feel if a Filipino teen was gunned down in the street by a black neighborhood watch captain? They had no qualms about the right wing media trying to paint Trayvon Martin as a thug.
Here’s a sampling from Twitter:
So. They found Zimmerman’s myspace page. If he doesnt get convicted after the shit thats said up there then I give up on this country.

@IAmKurtacus ur version. my version is Zimmerman harbored animosity/invisible racism, taunted the law, harassed the public, then killed a kid!

“Waiting to Exhale” author Terry McMillan compares the GOP to the Mafia in her Twitter stream. She also said she hates generalizations and added, “as mean-spirited, angry, and racists as some of these folks are, you’d swear they were the ones who were once slaves or oppressed.” Of course, she is being featured on right wing blogger Michelle Malkin’s new site Twitchy:
Trayvon Martin murder: Rev. Jesse Jackson told the Sanford City Commission yesterday, “the whole world is watching Sanford.” “The whole world is watching Florida today,” in his demand that they city commissioners do their part to ensure shooter George Zimmerman is arrested. Then a line of speakers, including U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX), echoed Jackson’s sentiments. Sheila Jackson-Lee has zero credibility in my opinion, on so many levels and I take anything she has to say with a grain of salt. It should be noted that a CNN poll released Monday, 73 percent of Americans think police should arrest George Zimmerman.
Last Sunday, speaking at a church in Eatonville, Rev. Jesse Jackson called Trayvon Martin a “martyr” and compared his death to that of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., even suggesting that it could start a new round in the so-called war for civil rights. Really? Trayvon Martin’s death is comparable to that of Dr. King’s? He is just as crazy as the New Black Panther group that has placed a $10,000 bounty on the head of George Zimmerman and Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera for saying a “hoodie” was responsible for the teen’s death. This is why Rev. Jesse Jackson is considered by many as a race hustler. Why bring Dr. King into this? He was fighting for a cause, Trayvon Martin was killed by an overzealous wannabe cop. There’s no martyrdom here.
The Rev. Al Sharpton delivered a petition to the city commissioners Monday, saying he had two million signatures on it demanding Zimmerman’s arrest, the Orlando Sentinel reports. He told Sanford leaders, ”You are risking going down as the Birmingham and Selma of the 21st century,” the newspaper reports. In other words, the city of Sanford will go down in history as having a “reputation for trampling the civil rights of black people if it doesn’t take action.”
This is where they are beginning to lose me — a special prosecutor has been brought in and Gov. Scott has requested the grand jury convene on April 10th. The Department of Justice and the FBI are also investigating the matter. I know that George Zimmerman should be behind bars as we speak, but the Sanford Police Department bungled the case from the start. That has to be undone and guess what, that takes time.
It should be noted that George Zimmerman may have received favorable treatment from the police because of his family. ”According to court records, his father is retired Supreme Court Magistrate Judge Robert Zimmerman and his mother Gladys Zimmerman was a court clerk. Connections in the legal community run deep and go far.
The irresponsible rhetoric coming from people like Rev. Jesse Jackson and Sheila Jackson-Lee, among others, have resulted in people taking their eyes off the crucial issues in the case — why the police department simply took George Zimmerman’s statement about what happened and why the officers didn’t call for an ambulance since he allegedly suffered a broken nose and had a gash in the back of his head. We all know head wounds bleed profusely.
Further, where are the bloody clothes George Zimmerman was wearing and why wasn’t a background check done on him, as well as why did Trayvon Martin’s body lie in a morgue for three days before his parents were contacted, even though he had a cell phone in his pocket? Additionally, there is a problem with how the police department interpreted the “stand-down law,” which quite clearly didn’t apply in this case, but they didn’t bother to get to the truth. Why? You see, George Zimmerman brushes with the law include three closed arrests 7/18/05 for resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer div 10; 8/9/05 for domestic violence div 44; and and again on 8/10/05 domestic violence div 46, (H/T to Shon Oakley). Had that been you or I, they would have gladly done a background check immediately. These are the issues Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson should be demanding answers for, not to be foaming at the mouth as they threaten another Selma march. Above all, why is MSNBC allowing Rev. Al Sharpton to cover himself at these rallies? Isn’t there a disconnect between journalism and pushing one’s cause? How could I forget, Rev. Al Sharpton isn’t a journalist.
Now there are some on the right trying to make Trayvon Martin out to be a hoodlum. Enter right wing blogger and Fox News contributor Michelle Malkin via her new website Twitchy, who posted a picture purportedly showing an older, stronger and tougher Trayvon Martin. In essence, one who could beat up George Zimmerman. The photograph showed a shirtless teen with his pants sagging, his boxer exposed and making an obscene gesture. In other words, Michelle Malkin & Co. were trying to portray the teen as a hoodlum who was really up to no good the night he was murdered. The site later published a correction saying the photo wasn’t of Trayvon Martin and apologized to the teen’s family. This is in the same vein as the character assassination of former black USDA director Shirley Sherrod, when Andrew Breitbart, now deceased, published an edited video taking her comments about helping a white farmer out of context. All hell broke loose until the USDA realized the tape was edited.
The Drudge Report is on a quest to criminalize Trayvon Martin, with the gold grill and all, by playing up the fact he was suspended for having an empty bag purported to have contained marijuana, showing a picture of him wearing a hoodie, talking about his mother, Sabrina Fulton, applying to trademark his name, multiple suspensions from school and for saying “you ain’t tell me you swung on a bus driver,” and the new details emerge caption, are being used to criminalize this teen. None of those things can explain why George Zimmerman took it upon himself to kill an unarmed teen.
Enter the Wagist, saying Trayvon Martin may have gang characteristics and asking if he was a drug dealer and that the “innocent appearance the mainstream media is trying to portray isn’t accurate.”The site also references Trayvon Martin’s tattoos, saying ”even though Trayvon was only 17, he already was sporting gold teeth, and several large tattoos. This one was on his wrist, apparently of his
girlfriend’s mother’s name.” Um, does that mean he deserved to have been shot by George Zimmerman, a man who has had some brushes with the law?
We don’t need all this dreck clogging up this tragedy and creating a circus over a very serious situation. Trayvon Martin deserves better than this. The same holds true for John Sanderson and Nolan Ryan Henderson III, two college students who were killed last weekend. The families deserve answers, not a media circus with everyone jockeying to have the loudest voice.
Let this case make its way through the legal system and if they decide not to file charges against George Zimmerman, then hell will break loose. There are holes in his self-defense claim and there are a lot of unanswered questions. We won’t get those unless we allow a thorough investigation to be conducted on several fronts. In the final analysis, Geraldo Rivera’s ridiculous assertion about hoodies, Rev. Jesse Jackson’s comment that the world is watching and Rev. Al Sharpton threatening a march of the proportions of Selma, are irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. The investigation must focus on facts and nothing will happen until those facts are scrutinized one by one. It’s time to dial back on the inflammatory rhetoric and allow cooler heads to prevail. Do it for Trayvon Martin, not for ratings or for site traffic.
Conservative blogger Michelle Malkin is backing Rick Santorum for president. Well, if Rick Santorum didn’t harbor some controversial views, then maybe I would say he would be a good presidential candidate. Some of his dangerous position include outlawing contraceptives for women. He may be able to support seven kids, but not every family out there can do that. Here’s an excerpt from Michelle Malkin:
Rick Santorum opposed TARP.
He didn’t cave when Chicken Littles in Washington invoked a manufactured crisis in 2008. He didn’t follow the pro-bailout GOP crowd — including Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich — and he didn’t have to obfuscate or rationalize his position then or now, like Rick Perry and Herman Cain did. He also opposed the auto bailout, Freddie and Fannie bailout, and porkulus bills.
Santorum opposed individual health care mandates — clearly and forcefully — as far back as his 1994 U.S. Senate run. He has launched the most cogent, forceful fusillade against both Romney and Gingrich for their muddied, pro-individual health care mandate waters.
I have no illusions about Rick Santorum. I wish he were as rock-solid on core economic issues as Ron Paul.
And I wish Ron Paul was not the far-out, Alex Jones-panderer on foreign policy, defense, and national security that he is.
To his credit, Rick Santorum doesn’t have the baggage that Newt Gingrich brings to the table and I believe he is very conservative, but can he beat Barack Obama? Not likely.
Michelle Malkin: Obama “Is The Guy Who Is Shaking Around His Brass Knuckles Every Time … Somebody Criticizes Him.”
It’s been a long time since we blogged about right wingnut wannabe white Michelle Malkin, but this time she’s playing the race card — President Obama, the Thug-in-Chief with the brass knuckles…. What a moron.
I applaud the Hispanic community for coming out in full force against the hatred being spewed by Lou Dobbs on a daily basis on CNN. Democracia Ahora is kicking off an effort Friday with the release of a report based on interviews with 100 Hispanic leaders about the impact of Dobbs’ evening show. They are calling on CNN to rein in Dobbs. Better yet, they should just fire him and that goes for people like Glenn Beck and yes, the leader of the Republican Party, Rush Limbaugh, who have been making divisive and inflammatory comments on a daily basis. I am glad that the Latinos and many African Americans are taking a stand against such bigotry and obvious racism. We should be moving forward and being a beacon of hope for the world to emulate, not stepping backwards into the darkest periods in American history.
According to the report, 90 percent of the people interviewed believe Dobbs is helping create a negative image of Hispanics, with his frequent criticisms of illegal immigration. But Democracia Ahora is hoping the report inspires a grassroots movement aimed at executives at CNN’s parent company, Time Warner, to draw attention to what the group calls “frequent negative portrayals of Hispanics on the Lou Dobbs show.” It is using its release to start a national campaign, “Enough is Enough!” that will be carried out through www.TellCNNEnoughisEnough.com, that goes live Friday.
“We’re asking CNN, the alleged ‘most trusted name in news,’ to really hold Lou Dobbs to the journalistic standards he should be held to,” said Jorge Mursuli, president of Democracia Ahora, who expressed frustration with Dobbs’ reports that immigration contributed to thousands of new reported cases of leprosy and of a ‘superhighway’ from Mexico to Canada.
“CNN needs to take responsibility for what he’s saying,” he said, adding, “We want CNN to insure that Lou Dobbs is going to stick with the facts. He can have his opinions but he can’t present his opinions as facts.” Mursuili said Democracia Ahora will be coordinating petitions and encouraging other Hispanic groups to make phone calls and write letters to CNN asking the news station to “to cease the daily drum roll of misinformation and offensive commentary about the Latino community on the Lou Dobbs Tonight show.” Source: Politico
We should hold these media outlets accountable for the content of their broadcasts, just as much as we should hold our elected officials accountable for their actions. People like Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Michael Savage, Laura Ingraham, Pat and Bay Buchanan, and all the other hatemongers must be held accountable for their actions. There is a big difference between being fair and balanced and pushing hateful rhetoric. The reality is that there are many people who believe the garbage they are spewing and we are seeing many on the fringe acting on the lies they are hearing in the media. It could turn violent and get really ugly if something drastic isn’t done.
Another racist picture of President Barack Obama is making its way around the Internet, thanks in large part, to the conservatives and Rethuglicans. I found this very interesting article on Comedy Central’s Indecision. This racist picture is in the same vein as the offerings from conservative extraordinaire Michelle Malkin. The picture is making its way around under the subject line Obamacare Healthcare is coming soon!
This was not widely reported in the “MSM,” but last month the delightful Michelle Malkin ran a very important “Obamacare poster contest” on her blog, which soars o’er the muck of the Internet like a million eagles screeching into the sunset.
The submissions Michelle received were just as insightful, nuanced and discerning as you might imagine, and obviously this is an excellent way to advance the health care debate in the United States, some fun Photoshopping. It beats a lame sketch about Hitler, right? Really, I couldn’t see how any of it would ever go wrong, this festive mix of rational thought and creativity and free speech and technology and all. Source: Comedy Central’s Indecision
This another dirty and sneaky attack by the right wing. I know that President George W. Bush was caricatured and ridiculed, but it was never racial and racist. This is just plain racist and an insult to Africans, Native American Indians and other ethnicities who still wear their native or tribal costumes. This is just plain sick and reprehensible.
Right wing nutjob Michelle Malkin just couldn’t resist criticizing Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee for the Congressional resolution she unveiled during her speech at Michael Jackson’s memorial service. Here is the article from Michelle Malkin’s website in its entirety.
Sheila Jackson-Lee hits rock bottom; Update: Video added
By Michelle Malkin • July 7, 2009 03:10 PM
Oh, no, she didn’t.
Oh, yes, she did.
Democrat Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee just pimped the stupidest House resolution ever on stage at the Jacko memorial at Staples Center. She held up a big, framed copy of it as the crowd cheered. That was after she extolled “The King,” painted him as the world’s greatest humanitarian, and demagogued the child molestation cases by proclaiming that members of Congress “know the law” and know that he is “INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY!”
Yes, she did. Right there in front of Jacko’s three children.
I thought Al Sharpton’s memorial rant was the low point for American culture.
Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, you win. Source: Michelle Malkin
I guess she was never accused of anything she didn’t do. She seems to have a problem with Mr. Jackson, but why? Has Michelle Malkin ever accomplished anything remotely close to Michael Jackson? I think not. Yes, Michelle Malkin, Michael Jackson was innocent until proven guilty. He was never convicted of child molestation charges. Didn’t Elvis Presley begin a relationship with Priscilla Beaulieu in 1959, when she was only 14? I don’t hear anyone calling him a pervert. Didn’t Glen Campbell have a relationship with his cousin Tanya Tucker? I don’t hear anyone calling him a pervert. Didn’t Rudy Giuliani marry his second cousin? I don’t hear right wingers calling him a pervert. She also didn’t seem to have a problem when a resolution was recently passed in North Carolina to honor Jesse Helms, a known racist. Please give me a break. She had to nerve to say that Rev. Al Sharpton’s memorial rant was a new low for American culture? Really? This woman is crazy.
Please visit her site and let her know how you feel.
Shepard Smith and Geraldo Rivera are the only two people from the Fox News Channel that I can tolerate and who I consider to be fair in their views. Shepard sounded a warning yesterday that I must say was chilling and a reality check of the anger that is simmering in the United States. Why is Fox News sitting on its laurels and taking these emails casually? Why haven’t the more incendiary ones been turned over to Homeland Security? I am glad Shepard Smith stepped up to the plate and did the right thing. When you have people like Rush Limbaugh, saying that Barack Obama and God have one thing in common, no birth certificate, what type of rhetoric and reaction do you expect from people on the fringe? Michelle Malkin, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Mike Savage, Bill O’Reilly and all the other nuts are fomenting a breed of overt racism not seen in recent times.
