Democratic strategist Paul Begala is calling on Mitt Romney to drop out of the race for the GOP presidential nomination. He has proven that he can’t win the tough states by big margins during the primaries, so imagine if he were to go up against President Obama? Rick Santorum, with all the crazy comments emanating from his lips, is winning primaries in the more conservative states, such as Alabama and Mississippi (though Mississippi is still stuck in the dark ages, with 29% frowning upon interracial marriages).
His take is actually hilarious, but true — Mitt Romney should be strapped like his dog in his doghouse on the top of one of his Cadillacs and be driven off to one of his many mansions. Funny!
Paul Begala: “Let me be the first to call on Mitt Romney to get out of the race. By placing third in Alabama and Mississippi, losing to Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich in both states, Romney has gone from inevitable to unelectable. Somebody strap him to the roof of one of his Cadillacs and drive him off to one of his many mansions.”
“One of the great legends of political consulting is the Dog Food Problem: an apocryphal tale of a company that had the best packaging, the best advertising, the best marketing. But there was only one problem: the dog wouldn’t eat it. Forevermore we should no longer call it a Dog Food Problem. We should call it a Mitt Romney Problem.”
The New Yorker had a picture of Mitt Romney strapping Rick Santorum to the top of his car, it should probably be the other way around. Assailing President Obama isn’t getting Mitt Romney anywhere. People just don’t like this man and don’t trust him. Either way, I have to echo Barbara Bush’s sentiments, this the worst presidential campaign I have seen in a long time.
