Memphis Mom Tasha Thomas Killed by Estranged Husband in Murder-Suicide

MEMPHIS MURDER-SUICIDE: Tasha Thomas, a Memphis mother of two, was shot and killed at the University of Little Scholars Learning Center on East Raines Road Tuesday morning. The suspected shooter was identified by family members and friends as her estranged husband Charles Thomas.

Investigators say after Thomas fatally shot Tasha, he left the scene and barricaded himself inside a home, where he later committed suicide.

WMC Action News 5 reports Tasha Thomas feared for her life and tried to get out of the relationship. An aunt of the deceased woman told the TV station that she had just filed for divorce and had attempted to leave Charles Thomas on several occasions.

Charles Thomas reportedly has a long and violent criminal rap sheet.

SANDY SPRINGS MURDER-SUICIDE: A husband and wife were killed in an apparent murder-suicide in the 7000 block of Chaparral Drive in  Sandy Springs, Ga., Wednesday morning.

The victim was identified as Sharon Wilkins, 64. She died after being taken to North Fulton Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

The body of the man, was found inside the house, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His name has not been released pending notification to the next of kin.

5 People Shot, 2 Dead in Bartow County Shooting, Carjacking

Bartow County Shooting:  Five people shot, two dead in Bartow County shooting, carjacking Tuesday afternoon. WSB-TV reports three people were shot at a home on Brent Circle in Cartersville. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap said the gunman then took a vehicle at the home and drove to another on Milam Bridge Road, where he shot a man in the hand. The gunman then went to a location on River Oaks, where he carjacked an elderly man and his grandson. Both were unhurt.

The gunman then took the second vehicle, crashed into a lawn-care truck near Westgate Drive and Euharlee, causing a fire. He then committed suicide.

Pennsylvania dad, Keith Belajonas, allegedly killed his wife and fled to Staten Island with their two young sons early Thursday morning.

NBC Philadelphia reports, Belajonas went to a Staten Island drug store where one of his relatives worked. He then pulled out a gun and tried to rob the CVS. He fled the scene and was later found dead drom a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Early Thursday, Keith Belajonas’ neighbors said they heard fighting and a gunshot at the family’s home in Drexel Hill. Police later found his wife’s body at the home about 2:30 a.m. with multiple stab wounds and a gunshot wound to the head. Police issued a Amber alert for the two boys, who were later found with a relative.

NBC Philadelphia reports one child asked, “Is Mommy dead.”

Paula Strange Fatally Shoots Husband, Commits Suicide, Outside Cobb Kroger

MARIETTA MURDER-SUICIDE:  Paula Strange, 54, shot and killed her husband, Bruce Strange, and then turned the gun on herself in an apparent murder-suicide in front of a Kroger supermarket in Marietta, Ga., police said.

Police said the shooting came only minutes after the couple, who lived in Kennesaw, had an argument over dinner at a Moe’s Southwest Grill in the same shopping center as Kroger on Dallas Highway.

There are reports that Bruce Strange abruptly left the restaurant while the two argued. A Moe’s Southwest Grill worker said, “The gentleman went to the bathroom, ran out the door, jumped over the patio fence and ran behind the restaurant.”

Paula Strange left the restaurant and chased after him in her car. A few minutes later, she shot her husband and then committed suicide.

Michael Sheer ID’d as Shooter in Mission Viejo Triple Murder-Suicide

Michael Sheer has been identified as the shooter in the Mission Viejo triple murder-suicide that left a “Christian family of four” dead.  Mark and Lydia Sheer and their 15-year-old daughter Amy were killed.

Police are still investigating what set off the deadly rampage inside the two-story home in the upscale neighborhood.

Michael Sheer, 21, attended Saddleback Valley Christian High School. He had no criminal history except for three speeding tickets. His sister Amy Sheer was a freshman at Crean Lutheran High School.

The family of four was found dead inside their home Tuesday morning after a relative called 911. Investigators, however, suspect a confrontation had occurred between Michael Sheer and his family about 30 hours prior to the grisly discovery.

MISSION VIEJO TRIPLE MURDER-SUICIDE:  Police suspect a triple murder-suicide at a home owned by Mark and Lydia Sheer in Mission Viejo. Authorities have not released the identities of the victims, but said two males and two females were found dead in the upscale home, located at 25601 Pacific Hills Drive.

A man named Mark Sheer advertises himself as a “tactical coach” for financial professionals and markets a six-step program online. Business records list a Mission Viejo address for the company, Mark Sheer Seminars.

Mark Sheer was a “mentor” who helped startup owners get their businesses off the ground, said a man who identified himself only as Michael and said he was a longtime friend and business partner. “It’s surreal,” Michael said of the deaths at the home.

Sheer was a devoted family man who also helped teach bible study at Mount of Olives Lutheran Church, Michael said. The couple had an adult son and a teenage daughter, he added, describing them as “great kids.”

Carol Cross, said she lived next to the Sheer family for 16 years, with both buying homes in the area shortly after they were first sold. Cross described them as a “pleasure to live next to,” saying the deaths were a “tragic loss” and a “tragic situation.”

SIBLING MURDER-SUICIDE:  Stephen Odeus, 14, shot and killed his 16-year-old brother, Stanley Blanc, late Sunday night, after the two argued about who could wear each other’s clothes.

CBS 4 News reports the family of the brothers said after realizing he murdered his brother, Odeus ran across the New Haven Gardens public housing complex and committed suicide in the parking lot with the same gun.

The shooting occurred shortly after 11 p.m. in the Little Haiti section of Miami, Fla.

Mark Blanc, the victims’ brother, said “It started off as a small petty argument over clothes that escalated into a fight.” He also said family members separated the two brothers, but the argument flared up again outside.

Porfirio Hernandez, Recently Released from Mental Hospital, Kills 3 in Jonesboro Shooting

Porfirio Hernandez, 40, killed three and injured four in a horrific shooting rampage in Jonesboro, Ark., Saturday. The dead have been identified as Crisanto Islas, 38; Floza Davila, 12, and Richardo Lopez. The suspect, who had been recently been released from a mental institution.

Jonesboro Police Chief Mike Yates said Porfirio Hernandez’s body was found in a vehicle on County Road 664 several hours after the initial shooting.

Yates said the first 911 call came in at about 1 p.m. Saturday after six people were shot at 2201 Moore Road in east Jonesboro. Two were pronounced dead at the scene. The injured were identified as Ayde Davila, age 36; Brayam Davila, age 10; Anquel Islas, age 8; and Augusten Hernandez, age 43. There were other people in the home who managed to escape the gunfire.

Porfirio Hernandez used a .357 magnum handgun in the shootings. Richardo Lopez was fatally shot after Hernandez took a vehicle from the Moore Road home and pulled into the parking lot of a construction site on Dalton Farmer Drive. When Lopez approached the vehicle, Hernandez opened fire, killing him.

Cumberland Mall Shooting Victim Violet Lambert Dies, Suspect Commits Suicide

Violet Lambert died after being shot in the parking lot of Cumberland Mall outside Macy’s. The suspected shooter, Danny Wray Brown, was found dead inside an East Point home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Violet Lambert, 55, was shot near the main entrance of Macy’s on the west side of the mall on Monday. Investigators said witnesses heard an argument between Lambert and Brown in the parking lot before the shooting took place.

A bystander tried to help Lambert but was fired upon by the suspect. The bystander was not injured. Police believe Violet Lambert and Danny Wray Brown knew each other.

Investigators said Brown calmly got into a white van after the shooting and then drove away. The van was later tracked to East Point, where he was found dead.
