Christopher Whitmore Kills Wife, 8-Year-Old Son in Varnell Murder-Suicide

Christopher Whitmore fatally shot his 8-year-old son, Grayden Lee Whitmore, and his estranged wife, Melissa Ball, before committing suicide outside a Varnell McDonald’s/Shell gas station Thursday night.

Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood said Ball and Whitmore were having domestic problems and were estranged at the time of the double murder-suicide.

Investigators say Christopher Whitmore shot his son while he was sitting the back seat of the car and shot Ball after he followed her driving up a gas pump. He then turned the gun on himself.

Whitfield County Shooting:  Three people are dead in a shooting at a Varnell McDonald’s/Shell gas station.

Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood confirms to NewsChannel 9 that three people are dead at a Varnell gas station.

He tells us a woman and 8-year-old boy were shot and killed. Chitwood says the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  They can’t confirm the relationship of these people right now.

The sheriff says they’re looking at two separate cars at a gas pump outside McDonald’s/Shell station. Investigators say the shooting occurred near those cars. Source: NewsChannel9

TRAGEDY:  Kevin Pimentel, 12, shot and killed his 6-year-old brother, Brady, and wounded his 16-year-old brother Trevor before turning the gun on himself in their Hudson, Fla., home on Wednesday.

Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco said the boys’ mother Helen Campochiaro wasn’t home when the shooting happened, WFLA reports. The boys’ 18-year-old brother wasn’t home at the time of the shooting either.

There are reports that the brothers were cooking when an argument broke out over food.

Pasco Murder-Suicide: Pasco County Sheriff, 13-year-old kills brother, 6, wounds another and then turns the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide.

The boy shot and killed his brother after an argument about food. He also shot his 16-year-old brother, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said.

The shooting occurred in a mobile park in the 16000 block of Bachmann Avenue in Hudson, Fla.

The siblings had been home alone eating dinner. Their mother was at work and their 18-year-old brother was not at home at the time of the shooting.

MISSOURI SHOOTING:  Nine people are dead, including the gunman, in a shooting in southeastern Missouri. There are four confirmed crime scenes in Tyrone, two more possible in Shannon County.

According to the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, a juvenile female called the department around 10:15 p.m. and said she heard gunshots in her home. After hearing the gunshots, the girl fled to a neighbor’s home and notified police.

When police arrived to the home they found two people dead of gunshot wounds. Upon further investigation, five other bodies were found and one injured person throughout three different homes in Tyrone, Missouri.

The body of an elderly woman was also found in one of the homes, but she appears to have died due to natural causes, police say.

Retired White Plains, NY, police officer Glen Hochman killed his two daughters, Alissa Hochman, 17, and Deanna Hochman, 13, then turned the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide, the The Journal News reports. His wife was out shopping at the time.

The bodies were found about 3:50 p.m. inside the family’s Harrison home, located 20 miles northeast of Manhattan.

Police say Anamarie Hochman, the retired officer’s wife, and their oldest daughter, Samantha Hochman, were not home at the time of the shooting. WABC reports that Hochman and his wife had been having marital issues.

HORROR:  Sixteen year old Jason C. Hendrix of Corbin, KY, was killed in a shootout with a police officers after a chase ensued stemming from a traffic stop by a Maryland state trooper on Valentine’s Day.

Police also later found his parents, Kevin and Sarah Hendrix, and sister dead at a Kentucky address linked to the teen. The teen is being viewed as a suspect in their deaths, the Times Tribune newspaper reports.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Corbin Police Chief David Campbell said Jason Hendrix “was mad at his parents over the usage of his computer. They had taken his computer rights away.”

Investigators are trying to piece together a timeline of events, including how he got from to Baltimore County from his Kentucky home.

Officers found a “handgun and other weapons” during a search of the Honda Pilot Jason Hendrix had been driving.

Off-Duty Dallas Cop Larry Tuttle Killed in Murder-Suicide

Larry Tuttle has been identified as the off-duty Dallas police officer who was killed in a murder-suicide at the Lake Highlands Landing apartments Saturday night, WFAA reports. A female was also killed.

WFAA reports, “Preliminary investigation indicates that the female shot and killed Officer Tuttle prior to taking her own life,” police spokesman Officer Juan Fernandez said.

Officer Larry Tuttle was a six-year veteran of the force. He was assigned to the South Central Patrol Division.

Seven people were shot, five killed, including the suspected shooter and his 7-year-old daughter in a Douglasville, Ga., subdivision on Saturday afternoon.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports a neighbor, Angela Ansah, described the shooter as a “mysterious” man. Andrew Ansah told the newspaper that “a neighbor tried to intervene when the dad chased the mother and daughter outside but could not stop him from shooting the two.”

The man reportedly shot two adults, including his ex-wife and two children. He later died at an area hospital. Two other children were wounded in the shooting.

Douglas County Chief Deputy Stan Copeland told WSB-TV: “We had multiple victims shot in the street.” He added, “Some of those are siblings, so some (of) these (people) are related. We just don’t know who is who right now.”

The shooter’s sister earlier said, “My brother should never had had a gun.” The identities of the victims and the shooter have not been released.

Raja Fayad, a Lebanese cancer researcher, was killed in a murder-suicide on the campus of the University of South Carolina on Thursday.

Fayad, 45, is the graduate director and an expert in colon cancer. He was killed at the Public Health Research Center.  This was the first multiple shooting at the site in 30 years.

Neighbors say Raja Fayad completed his MD in Syria before migrating to the U.S. He had recently ended a “stormy relationship” with his girlfriend, with whom he had been living. The State  reports he had moved out to be with another woman.
