Sen. Ted Cruz, the engineer of last year’s government shutdown, is hitting back after his ridiculous accusation that President Obama of imposing an economic boycott of Israel because the FAA halted planes from flying to and from Tel Aviv. The State Department called his accusation “offensive,” but that’s a word Ted Cruz doesn’t understand.
The FAA cited a “potentially hazardous security situation created by the armed conflict between Israel and Gaza,” when it banned U.S. airlines from flying to Ben Gurion airport. Cruz claimed, “The facts suggest that President Obama has just used a federal regulatory agency to launch an economic boycott on Israel, in order to try to force our ally to comply with his foreign policy demands.” What facts? I didn’t realize Benjamin Netanyahu was calling the shots were the welfare of Americans are concerned. Who’s helping who?
Ted Cruz is digging in though his assertions are utterly ridiculous. He claims “This FAA flight ban may well represent a crippling blow to a key economic sector through both security concerns and worries that additional bans will down more flights and strand more passengers. It hardly matters if or when the ban is lifted. At this point, the damage may already be done.” Really? Has he been living under a rock? I guess the Malaysia Airlines flight 17 missile attack that claimed the lives of 298 people, some of whose bodies have yet to be recovered, means nothing to him. Tell me again why this moron is considered a credible presidential candidate?
Can you imagine if a U.S. plane was hit by a Hamas rocket on its descent into Ben Gurion airport? What would Ted Cruz and his lackeys have to say?
