Rush Limbaugh Says Trayvon Martin Murder Outrage, Racism Aren’t Real

Rush Limbaugh is spewing some bullsh*t again, saying the Trayvon Martin murder outrage isn’t real. Yeah, just like the fake outrage about his slut comments towards Sandra Fluke. Yeah, Trayvon Martin’s murder and racism in general are a figment of our imagination. Isn’t that just what conservatives want us to think that there is no racism in America? Here’s an excerpt from his show’s transcript:

[T]he next time the media and the Democrat Party get all exercised about something happening in our country or in our culture or in our media, and when they’re all in unity on it, the reaction ought to be they’re lying.  They’re making it up.  There’s a political agenda here.  There is no real outrage, for example.

All these people supposedly calling advertisers of this program.  There was no angry consumer outrage.  It was all trumped up.  The same thing was attempted with the Trayvon Martin case.  To create a false reality, to make it look like the country is as agitated as the left is, but it never is.  The country is never as roiled and as agitated as the left is.  They can succeed in upsetting people.  But the object lesson here is to, from this point forward, just don’t believe them. Source: Rush Limbaugh

Really Rush? So, the racism in America in the 1900s didn’t exist. You mean to tell me Jim Crow was a figment of our imagination too? Racial profiling is just some bullsh*t? What a dumbass. Um, there’s one slight problem to his “analysis,” several surveys contradict his position.  A Pew Research Center poll  released Tuesday shows 25 percent of Americans are following the Martin story more closely than any other story,  making it the top news Americans were interested in last week. A CNN poll this week showed 73 percent of Americans think Zimmerman should be arrested. So, in the minds of most sane Americans, this wasn’t fake.

The bottom line is simply this, when you can walk in the shoes of someone who has been discriminated against, then you have the right to offer an opinion on the subject. In closing, Rush Limbaugh is forgetting one important detail, the Democratic Party didn’t start the Trayvon Martin backlash. His parents did because the Sanford police didn’t do it’s job for whatever reason, could be covering for the son of retired judge. Who knows, but it didn’t start with the Democratic Party.

Rush Limbaugh Faces New Threat When New Mike Huckabee Show Launches in His 12-3 PM Time Slot

Rush Limbaugh faces new threat — former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. Why?  The new Mike Huckabee show launches on 100 stations in his noon-3 p.m. time slot. Um, give me Mike Huckabee any day over Rush Limbaugh.  Advertisers won’t be the only ones running from Rush Limbaugh, listeners will too.

David Frum points out that Limbaugh will face “a more-serious challenge” on April 2: “That’s when the new Mike Huckabee show launches on 100 stations in Limbaugh’s very own noon-to-3 time slot. Huckabee’s competition threatens Limbaugh not only because Huckabee has already proven himself an attractive and popular TV broadcaster, but also because Huckabee is arriving on the scene at a time when Limbaugh’s business model is crashing around him.”

Rush Limbaugh Calls Obama “Boy President” in Between United Negro College Fund PSA

Rush Limbaugh denigrates President Obama by calling him a “boy president” on his radio show in between a United Negro College Fund PSA. Here’s the transcript from RushLimbaugh.com:

So, the Politico story, the headline: “Obama’s New Hurdle: Jobs Report Optimism — President Barack Obama has a new challenge with the jobs report due out Friday: rising expectations.” Oh, the poor guy. What a real challenge. “Several months of improving numbers filtered through an election-year prism have bolstered Obama’s standing — but also have fueled anticipation that the employment outlook will continue to improve. If new jobs aren’t added at the same rate, Obama’s political opponents will attack him for not doing enough to sustain the economy.” This is the Politico writing for a third grade anti-bullying class. Obama’s political opponents will attack him for not doing enough. “If they go up, he’ll almost certainly be slammed for the economy not improving enough. And if they tick down — or the unemployment rate rises — expect searing attacks about a president leading the country into a double-dip recession.”

Poor Obama. Boohoo! He just can’t catch a break. Even the news media talking up the economy for him might backfire on him. Oh, yeah! It’s so fraught with danger out there for Obama. Why, even if his sycophant, slavish media talk up the economy, that might backfire. Remember how the media fretted about all the problems of perception that President Bush faced? Right. We don’t, either. So obviously this piece in The Politico from which I was just reading was written before this morning’s unemployment report came out, and it is clear that the news media and the rest of the Obama campaign were sweating bullets over this number.

You remember how the media fretted about all the problems of perception that Bush faced? Poor Obama! He can’t catch a break. These venal Republicans, they’re just waiting to pounce on any uptick in the jobless rate! Those bullies. You notice that everything Republicans do is venal? Everything is calculated for political advantage? Everything is done to try to harm our little boy president, Barack Obama? The Republicans never have the country’s interests at heart like Obama does. In fact, this article sounds like the Obama campaign was using The Politico to tell their lickspittle minions in the news media to dial back their boosterism a little bit.

It sounds to me like this whole story is the White House calling Politico saying, “Hey, dial it back. We don’t want to make it sound too good out there! I mean, there are gonna couple of dips between now and Election Day. It can’t be that because we got this poll from Greenberg, don’t forget.” Stanley Greenberg, James Carville’s partner, big-time Democrat pollster, last couple of weeks puts a pull out and says: Mr. President, don’t go to town on this big story of a reviving, roaring-back economy because it isn’t going to work. They’re not feeling it. The reason a story based on a virtual economic recovery won’t work is because people are living in the economy.

When will Rush Turdbaugh get the boot? Seems like he thinks the heat is starting to cool off in the Sandra Fluke “slut” controversy.

GOP presidential has-been Michele Bachmann calls the outrage to Rush Limbaugh calling Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” overkill. Um, remember when she appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show and walked out to the music “Lying Ass Bitch?” Wasn’t she ticked off when she realized they dissed her and even called for an apology? What an ignoramus, who continues to make a mocker of elected office!

The Hill:  ”When you see the overkill that’s being done about Rush Limbaugh and then the comments that were said about me, there’s no comparison here,” she said on CNN, condemning “violent talk” toward women on both sides of the partisan divide. “Why is it that it’s an outrage when it’s an issue on the left but zero outrage when it’s on the right?”

Um, people shrugged off her episodes because she called President Obama and others all manner of ugly names, including accusing him of being a “gangsta” president. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Andrew Breitbart Columnist Dan Riehl Accuses Democrats of Inciting Death Threats Against Rush Limbaugh

The so-called publishing empire of the late Andrew Breitbart continues to churn out right wing bullsh*t. The latest is an article written by Dan Riehl accusing the Democrats of inciting death threats against Rush Limbaugh after he called Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” over her birth control testimony. Um, Dan Riehl, get real and stop the inflammatory rhetoric. How many Democrats received death threats from Tea Party supporters over their Obamacare vote and over their stance on many issues? Andrew Breitbart led the charge on that front. Wait, remember Shirley Sherrod? It doesn’t feel so good now when the right is in the hot seat, right?

For the record, Rush Limbaugh apologized twice for denigrating Sandra Fluke, not from the goodness of his cinder block heart, but because advertisers, 30 from the last count, have jumped ship and radio stations are fleeing. You see, you can’t have it both ways. Had that been a Democrat, the outrage would have been the same. So, let’s quit the BS.

Limbaugh has already apologized for twice, the popular Conservative talk radio host is now the target of multiple death threats by the very same storm troops Obama and the Democrat Party unleashed in what even HBO host Bill Maher has acknowledged is a witch hunt with intimidation as its goal.

Maher: Hate to defend #RushLimbaugh but he apologized, liberals looking bad not accepting. Also hate intimidation by sponsor pullout

“I want your blood … coming to Florida … gonna pay you a visit my friend you love to pick on people get ready fatso,” is just one of many hateful threats regularly directed at Limbaugh as a result of the Democrat’s campaign.

“Execute Rush, now!” states one; “Don’t just drop sponsorship someone kill this pig now please!!!!,” reads another. These and others are documented below with images and names obscured, so as not to fuel the same targeted hatred the White House and Democrats have now gone to great lengths to stoke. Source: Big Government

As for quoting Bill Maher, he’s just as misogynistic as Rush Limbaugh and Ed Schultz. Funny, Dan Riehl is feigning ignorance when it comes to the inflammatory and oftentimes racist comments left on all the sites under the Andrew Breitbart publishing arm, that have called President Obama and Michelle Obama,  a nigger, a monkey, a gorilla, a terrorist lover, among other unsavory words. The truth is, Dan Riehl and what’s left of the “Andrew Breitbart” empire need to pick the speck out of their own eyes first before accusing the Democrats or anyone else of inciting death threats against Rush Limbaugh.

Jon Stewart Takes on Rush Limbaugh Over Calling Sandra Fluke “Slut” and “Prostitute”

Jon Stewart takes on windbag Rush Limbaugh controversy after radio show host calls Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” over birth control flap. This comes as advertisers continue to flee the conservative’s show and two radio stations have also dropped the show.

According to media reports, KPUA in Hilo, Hawaii, and WBEC in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, are no longer airing it. That’s in addition to the list of growing advertisers jumping ship:  Carbonite, Proflowers, Tax Resolution Services, Legal Zoom, Citrix Success, All State, Heart and Body Extract, AutoZone, Quicken Loans, Sleep Train, Sleep Number, Oreck and AOL.

Twitter users are also spreading the message using the hashtags #BoycottRush, #StopRush and #BoycottHate. Do your part and hold other misogynistic media personalities accountable too. Watch the Jon Stewart video, it’s hilarious:

Ron Paul Says Rush Limbaugh Apology to Sandra Fluke Driven by Advertisers Jumping Ship

The Rush Limbaugh “slut” comment scandal lives another day. This time, our quote of the day is from GOP presidential hopeful, Ron Paul, who is sometimes the voice of reason among the four candidates. Ron Paul basically says Rush Limbaugh’s apology to Sandra Fluke after calling her a “slut” and a “prostitute” largely driven  by advertisers jumping ship.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:  “I don’t think he’s very apologetic. He’s doing it because some people were taking their advertisements off his program. It was his bottom line that he was concerned about.”

– Ron Paul during interview on Face the Nation, about Rush Limbaugh’s apology for calling a Georgetown law student, Sandra Fluke, a “slut.”

Ron Paul also said Rush Limbaugh’s “language was crude.” Of the four GOP presidential candidates, he went the furthest, with Mitt Romney saying “that’s language” he wouldn’t have used. Um, so, is he saying Rush Limbaugh should have called her a slut but used a different word?

George Stephanopoulos: George Will told me Sunday on “This Week” that GOP leaders have steered clear of harshly denouncing Limbaugh’s comments because “Republican leaders are afraid of Rush Limbaugh.”

“[House Speaker John] Boehner comes out and says Rush’s language was inappropriate. Using the salad fork for your entrée, that’s inappropriate. Not this stuff,” Will said. “And it was depressing because what it indicates is that the Republican leaders are afraid of Rush Limbaugh. They want to bomb Iran, but they’re afraid of Rush Limbaugh.”

Rush Limbaugh “Apologizes” for Calling Sandra Fluke a “Slut” and “Prostitute” Over Birth Control Flap

Rush limbaugh Rush Limbaugh Apologizes for Calling Sandra Fluke a Slut and Prostitute Over Birth Control Flap

Rush Limbaugh Apologizes for Calling Sandra Fluke a "Slut" and "Prostitute" Over Birth Control Flap Wikipedia

Rush Limbaugh apologizes for calling Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute.” Well, that’s if you want to call it an apology. The fact is, when you hit them in the wallet or purse because advertisers start fleeing in droves, then they will start apologizing. Four advertisers left the show and I am sure more were seriously considering leaving as well. Here’s the text of his non-apology:

For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week.  In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.

I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit?In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone’s bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.

My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.

Sorry, but this is a non-apology in my book. Why even call the woman a slut in the first place? Rush Limbaugh’s apology is just a ploy to calm the nervous advertisers. It’s all about the money.

Carbonite CEO says his company will abide by its decision to pull its advertising from the show, despite Rush Limbaugh’s so-called apology:

A Statement from David Friend, CEO of Carbonite as of 6:45pm ET, March 3:

“No one with daughters the age of Sandra Fluke, and I have two, could possibly abide the insult and abuse heaped upon this courageous and well-intentioned young lady. Mr. Limbaugh, with his highly personal attacks on Miss Fluke, overstepped any reasonable bounds of decency. Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.”

We knew the day was coming when the GOP would have to confront its Rush Limbaugh problem head-on and they can’t keep dancing around the issue. Rush Limbaugh’s basic argument about the government paying for contraceptives wasn’t unfounded. In fact, it is a legitimate policy issue, but the way in which he denigrated Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke to prove his point was not only despicable but misogynistic at best. The government should not be paying for birth control pills any more than it should be footing the bill for Viagra.

The media outlets that carry Rush Limbaugh’s radio show shouldn’t be let off the hook any more than the show’s advertisers. We have to stand for something and not fall for anything. Respect should be demanded of ALL women. It’s very telling when we have yet to hear from the so-called women of the GOP such as Sarah Palin. Let’s not forget when David Letterman made sex jokes about Sarah Palin’s daughter, all hell broke loose and he was forced to issue an apology. Well, Rush Limbaugh should be held to the same standard and not just dismissed as an “entertainer,” as Rick Santorum said. We can’t give some people a pass and punish others. Don Imus was kicked off the air when he called the Rutgers University women’s basketball players “nappy-headed hos.” You remember the outrage that erupted, right? Then the same treatment should be afforded to Rush Limbaugh.

Washington Post: We are not calling for censorship. Nor are we suggesting that the ostensible policy issue here — mandatory provision of contraception under health insurance paid for by religious-based institutions such as Georgetown — is a simple one. Those who questioned President Obama’s initial decisions in this area — we among them — were not waging a “war on women,” as Democrats have alleged in strident fundraising appeals.

What we are saying is that Mr. Limbaugh has abused his unique position within the conservative media to smear and vilify a citizen engaged in the exercise of her First Amendment rights, and in the process he debased a national political discourse that needs no further debasing. This is not the way a decent citizen behaves, much less a citizen who wields significant de facto power in a major political party. While Republican leaders owe no apology for Mr. Limbaugh’s comments, they do have a responsibility to repudiate them — and him.

Rush Limbaugh doubled down claiming that the left was going crazy. Well, so are some on the right, including John Boehner and Carly Fiorina. He changed the premise of the discussion to something ugly that the Republican Party cannot ignore. Calling a woman, who he knew nothing about a “slut” and a “prostitute” was vitriolic and low. In essence, Rush Limbaugh has called ALL women who share the same views as Sandra Fluke sluts and prostitutes. How would he like someone to call his mother, his sister (if he has one), his wife or a female cousin a slut?

The bottom line is that he represents the conservative mindset in this country to a large degree and the Republican Party cannot afford to be tied to this wingnut. Rush Limbaugh needs to remember that karma is a beeyotch and what goes around, comes around. His day is coming and many will rejoice at whatever curve ball life throws him. It’s funny that Newt Gingrich claims to stand for so much, but really stands for nothing. He was pretty vocal about President Obama apologizing for the recent Koran burning in Afghanistan, but mum on Rush Limbaugh calling Sandra Fluke a slut.
