Hillary Clinton, who is obviously grasping at straws, has compared herself to Rocky. What is wrong with this picture? Hmmm. Well for starters she has rationalized her statement in several ways, which has elicited a yawn from me. Didn’t the scrappy boxer from Philadelphia lose his first big fight? Hillary Clinton uttered this analogy at a meeting of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Tuesday. She said that she, like Rocky, wasn’t a quitter. She recalled a famous scene on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Clinton said that ending her presidential campaign now would be as if “Rocky Balboa had gotten halfway up those art museum steps and said, ‘Well, I guess that’s about far enough.'” “Let me tell you something, when it comes to finishing a fight, Rocky and I have a lot in common. I never quit. I never give up. And neither do the American people,” Clinton said. I guess when she gets a licking she keeps on ticking. How else can you explain someone who tells barefaced lies and pass them off as misstatements and go on to bash her rival?

She promised the labor group that as president, she would create three million new jobs through investments in public infrastructure like roads and bridges. Didn’t she promise to implement universal health care as First Lady and that bombed miserably. Also, I find it once again very hypocritical that her campaign was late in paying its medical bills, yet she has promised universal health care once again to Americans.

Feeling a little bold, Clinton also warned that Democrats won’t have an easy time against Republican nominee-in-waiting John McCain in the general election, and implied that her rival for the nomination, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, may not be up to the task. “The Republicans aren’t going to give up without a fight,” Clinton said. “And no matter how beautiful your rhetoric, the Republicans aren’t going to turn off their attack machine — it doesn’t have an off-switch.” “But one thing you know about me is that when I say I’ll fight for you,I’ll fight for you,” she said. “I know what it’s like to stumble. I know what it means to get knocked down. But I’ve never stayed down, and I never will.” I guess she thinks she has earned enough bruised knees from her husband’s indiscretions. So, I suppose that somehow, she is more “experienced” to take on the Republicans. Actually, that is what the Republicans want, to meet her for the general elections. I hardly think all her baggage will somehow mysteriously evaporate into thin air. I think she is more of a liability to the Democratic Party than Obama. I am just getting a little sick of the Clinton machine and the spin they put on just about anything, even the truth. Just my thoughts, you be the judge…..
