Robin Roberts on interviewing President Obama: “I’m getting chills all over again.” Um, really? Not me. You see, it was a calculated move on Obama’s part. Shrewd maybe because he will solidify the gay base, problematic, for some blacks and Christians who view marriage as being between one man and one woman.
George Stephanopoulos, co-host of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” to Robin Roberts: “Whatever people think about this issue, we know it’s controversial, there’s no denying when a president speaks out for the first time like that, it is history.”
Robin Roberts: “And let me tell you, George, I’m getting chills again. “When you sit in that room and you hear him say those historic words. It was not lost on anyone in there right there. You never know what he’s going to say until you ask him.” Well, I guess she feels it to the core of her being because she is a lesbian and this means a lot to her and the gay community to hear the president go to bat for them. Still wondering why Obama chose her to conduct the interview? She’s black, a woman and a lesbian….
It should be noted Obama’s spiritual adviser, Joel Hunter, isn’t too pleased on the president’s so-called evolution. Hunter, the pastor and founder of an Orlando megachurch, said he told the president, “I said I disagreed with this decision. “I said, more precisely, This is not how I read Scripture,’ and he totally understood that. In the end, he was doing what he believed was right, what he thinks is authentic for him at this time in his life.” He added that there will “absolutely be blowback from his personal decision.”
