Gun sales up in Colorado after the deadliest shooting massacre in America’s history. The Denver Post reports that background checks for people wanting to purchase guns in Colorado jumped more than 41 percent after James Holmes went on a shooting rampage early Friday morning at the premiere of final Batman flick “Dark Knight Rises.” Firearms instructors are reportedly seeing an increase in the training required for a concealed-carry permit, the newspaper reports.

Between Friday and Sunday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation approved background checks for 2,887 people who wanted to purchase a firearm — a 43 percent increase over the previous Friday through Sunday and a 39 percent jump over those same days on the first weekend of July.

The biggest spike was on Friday, when there were 1,216 checks, a 43 percent increase over the average number for the previous two Fridays. Source

Unfortunately there will some some “ticking timebombs” purchasing guns in Colorado as well. So, this doesn’t really solve the problem of guns getting in the wrong hands, now does it?
