Dr. Beverly Hall charged with racketeering in APS cheating scandal (Fulton County Jail)

APS CHEATING SCANDAL: ┬áJamaican-born former Atlanta Public Schools superintendent┬áDr. Beverly Hall’s mug shot released after she turned herself into the Fulton County jail Tuesday evening. I can’t imagine what she could be smiling about. Hall was booked on charges of racketeering, theft by taking, making false statements and false swearing. Dr. Beverly Hall’s [Booking No: 1309817] bond is $200,000, but $50,000 is a cash bond, and the remainder is a signature bond.

I wondered why Beverly Hall was in Jamaica when the indictment was handed down, whether she was on vacation or not. Well, I now know she is a Jamaican-American. She graduated from Saint Andrew High School and then migrated to the U.S., where she earned an undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College in 1970. She later received her master’s degree from the City University of New York. She received her Ed.D. from Fordham University in 1990.
