GOP BOWS: Bipartisan Deal Reached to Open Government, Raise Debt Ceiling

GOP BOWS:  Under terms of the Senate agreement, the government would be funded through January 15 and the debt ceiling would be raised until February 7. Sen. Ted Cruz has said he would not block the Senate vote. Um, wonder what got to him? House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is also being blamed for the prolonged government shutdown. This has been a humiliating disaster for John Boehner and his party.

Mr. McConnell said on the Senate floor that the efforts to limit the health law were justified.

“This law is ravaging our economy, killing jobs, driving up premiums and driving people off the coverage they have, and like, in droves,” he said, saying the “refusal to delay it reflects a kind of stubborn ideological obsession.”

But he added that “for today, for today, the relief we hope for is to reopen the government, avoid default and protect the historic cuts we achieved under the budget control act. This is far less than many of us had hoped for, frankly, but is far better than some had sought.” Source: NY Times

President Obama was very clear, that the Affordable Care Act wasn’t perfect and that he was open to changing some things. Why not take him at his word in a professional manner, rather than trying to bully him into submission as Ted Cruz and his Teahadists have sought to do, much to the detriment of the country.

Watch out, President Obama is going for immigration reform next. That will come just in time for the 2014 elections.

Matt Drudge’s head must be exploding….He went after John Boehner on The Drudge Report:
