Mario Chery Fatally Stabbed in Bedford-Stuyvesant Street Fight

Mario Chery was fatally stabbed during a street fight in Bedford-Stuyvesant last week. Police said the incident occurred at about 12:40 a.m. last Saturday when Chevy got into a fight with an unidentified man on Hart Avenue. The suspect punched Mario Chery, threw him into a gate and then stabbed him several times.

The New York Post reports that Mario Chery told his wife he was going out to smoke marijuana when he left the home that evening. He was later pronounced dead at Woodhull Medical Center where he was taken in critical condition. Police aren’t sure what the fight was about and are trying to identify the SUV they believe was involved.
