Famed attorney Alan Dershowitz railed against Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby filing charges against six cops for the death of Freddie Gray, saying the charges are politically motivated and “crowd control.”
Dershowitz, who appeared on Newsmax, said “this is a very sad day for justice” and Mosby acted to “prevent riots.” He also said it will be “virtually impossible” for the officers to get a fair trial.
Dershowitz said there is “no plausible, hypothetical, conceivable case for murder” and that “this is a show trial.” He also pulled the race card saying Baltimore citizens may get upset if the case is moved “to a place with a different demographic.” In other words, a mostly white area.
He predicted that the case will likely be “reversed on appeal.”
My two cents: When Alan Dershowitz’s name came up in an underage sex scandal, he was vehment in his outrage and threatened the mother of all lawsuits. He believed he was due justice. Well, what about Freddie Gray? Did he give himself those injuries? Should the cops walk free?
