Jaquan Reeves, a black 17-year-old Florida high school basketball player, was fatally shot Friday night during a vigil for a 17-year-old football player classmate, Johnell Johnson, who was gunned down at an after-prom party in Jacksonville.
Reeves was shot at William Sheffield Regional Park around 9 p.m. Friday after nearly 30 people gathered to honor Johnson, First Coast News reports.
Jaquan Reeves, who attended North Florida Educational Institute, was killed when at least one shooter opened fire. Khalil Bryant, 17, suffered a non-life threatening injury after being grazed by a bullet, Action News reported.
