President Obama said that America has still not been cured of racism and used the word n*gger to prove his point. I am sure the right wingnuts will take offense to POTUS dropping the word.
He said, “Racism, we are not cured of it,’ Obama said. ‘And it’s not just a matter of it not being polite to say n*gger in public. That’s not the measure of whether racism still exists or not. It’s not just a matter of overt discrimination. Societies don’t, overnight, completely erase everything that happened 200 to 300 years prior.”
President Obama made the remarks during his first-ever interview on Marc Maron’s podcast WTF, which was recorded on Friday and uploaded online Monday morning.
President Obama talked about everything from his upbringing to the Affordable Care Act. He weighed in on the debate on the racially motivated killing of nine black members of Emanuel AME Church by 21-year-old white male Dylann Roof in Charleston, SC.
Actually, it wasn’t just the right wing lunatics going crazy. The mainstream media didn’t know what to do with itself either. CNN analyst Sunny Hostin said President Obama was wrong for using the word. Um, really Sunny? Look at the context in which he used the word….racism still exists despite people dropping the word.
