Hispanic leaders call on GOP to denounce Donald Trump after calling Mexican immigrants rapists and criminals.
Donald Trump’s problems continue to grow following his racist comments about Mexican immigrants. Hispanic leaders are now calling on the Republican Party to denounce the presidential candidate after he called Mexican immigrants rapists, drug dealers and criminals. It would be in the best interest of the Republican Party to recognize that they can’t win the White House solely with the white vote. They need Hispanics and blacks.
According to media reports, “Hispanic leaders are warning of harm to Republican White House hopes unless the party’s presidential contenders do more to condemn Donald Trump, a businessman turned presidential candidate, who’s refusing to apologize for calling Mexican immigrants rapists and drug dealers.”
Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney is also weighing in on the Trump fallout. He was asked if Trump’s comments on Mexicans have hurt the GOP, he replied, “Yes.” He added, “I think he made a severe error in saying what he did about Mexican-Americans.” Of course, Trump will attack Romney.
Separately, Vice News reports that as Trump’s empire “hemorrhages money, we’re getting closer than ever to learning the details of his business practices. In the past, Trump’s net worth has been notoriously hard to pin down, and experts have said it’s likely a much lower number than he suggests. But earlier this week, a federal judge ruled that Trump will have to clarify some of his murky finances, as part of an ongoing lawsuit over a ‘university’ Trump named after himself.”
