The Lafayette movie theater shooter has been identified as John Russel Houser, a white 58-year-old male. Three people are dead, including the Houser, and nine people were injured after gunfire erupted at the 7:00 p.m. showing of “Trainwreck,” starring Amy Schumer.
Gov. Bobby Jindal said John Russell Houser, who is a drifter, parked his car near an exit and intended to flee scene. He then went gunman went back inside the theater and killed himself when he saw law enforcement officials.
Amy Schumer tweeted: “My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana,”
There were about 100 people inside the Grand 16 movie theater at the time of the shooting.
