Whoopi Goldberg is backing off her support for embattled actor/comedian Bill Cosby. She admitted on “The View” on Tuesday that if Cosby were to be tried in the court of public opinion, he would most likely be found guilty.
Goldberg’s message for Cosby–“It looks bad, Bill. Either speak up or shut up” She added, “cause people know now there’s a lot more out there than they thought.”
Whoopi admitted that she was unaware that there is a statute of limitations on rape charges.
This is a huge shift for Goldberg, who had fiercely defended Bill Cosby, as recent as last week, when a Pennsylvania judge released parts of his 2005 deposition in which he admitted giving a woman Quaaludes before having sex with her.
I wonder how Phylicia Rashad really feels about Bill Cosby now that his 2005 admission is now public? You will recall Rashad defended Cosby, saying “you’re seeing the destruction of a legacy.”
