Maurice “Stephon” Phillips confesses to accidentally shooting and killing his 4-year-old daughter in their home in the Kensington section of Philadelpha, Philly.com reports.
The initial report was that the girl was accidentally shot by her 5-year-old brother. Phillips was playing with the gun when it discharged, striking the girl in the face, CBS station KYW-TV reports.
Phillips fled the scene after the shooting but was later turned himself into police. He confessed that he and not the boy had shot his daughter. Police recovered a semi-automatic pistol from the home on Saturday.

Maurice “Stephon” Phillips has been charged with 3rd degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and recklessly endangering another person, the police say.
