Donald Trump Fights with Civil Rights Icon John Lewis Ahead of MLK Day

Of course, John Lewis was exercising his right to free speech when he told NBC’s Chuck Todd that he would not attend the inauguration because he did not believe Trump was a “legitimate” president because the Russians sabotaged the election and helped him to win.

Trump tweeted:  “Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk — no action or results. Sad!”

John Lewis fought for racial equality and justice in this country. He also lost his life on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma. He is not all talk. Further, Mr. Lewis can’t fix the problems with crime. That’s the job of the mayor and the police department. In fact, his district includes the state house, universities, colleges, Centers for Disease Control, Fortune 500 companies such as Coca Cola, Delta airlines, tech start-ups and affluent communities such as Buckhead. So, as usual, Donald Trump doesn’t know what he’s talking about. If anyone knows what sacrifice means it’s not Trump.
