The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the GOP repeal-only health care bill would increase the number of people who are uninsured by 17 million in 2018, compared to the Affordable Care Act.
After the elimination of Medicaid expansion and ending marketplace subsidies, that uninsured number would increase to 27 million in 2020, and then to 32 million in 2026
In addition to the high number of people losing health care benefits, the average premium in the nongroup market would increase by about 25% in 2019 and roughly 50% in 2020. By 2026, premiums would double.
What this all means is that everything the Republicans have proposed thus far would be devastating to Americans. Any bill they bring for a vote with these devastating numbers would go down in flames.
