Dale Earnhardt Jr. defended the right to peaceful protests by tweeting a JFK quote even as NASCAR threatens to fire anyone who protests the national anthem and the flag.
Earnhardt tweeted: “All Americans r granted rights 2 peaceful protests. Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable — JFK.”

Earnhardt fired back at Trump’s tweet praising NASCAR for threatening the violat the First Amendment rights of its drivers:
So proud of NASCAR and its supporters and fans. They won't put up with disrespecting our Country or our Flag – they said it loud and clear!

Earnhardt joins a growing chorus of athletes from different sports who are hitting back at Donald Trump’s racist attacks on black NFL players who take a knee during the anthem. Trump’s attacks have backfired as more and more players took a knee yesterday, while others, along with team owners and employees, locked arms in solidarity against his divisive attacks.
Reaction to Dale Earnhardt’s tweet defying Trump:
Trump lauded NASCAR for not putting up "with disrespecting our Country or our Flag." Looks like Dale Jr has different definition of respect. https://t.co/o5mTE4OgQh

I can't think of someone with a fan base more hostile to this message. He said it anyway. White athletes in other sports need to speak. https://t.co/EGDfd7zE73

Is it just me, or have we found the bridge too far for Trump? I am seeing many who are conservative or republican saying things like this. https://t.co/weWrVKB13o
