Former President Barack Obama is urging black Alabama voters not to sit out the Senate race because “this one’s serious” and to reject Roy Moore.
Obama reportedly recorded a call telling voters, “This one’s serious.” “You can’t sit it out.”
CNN reports Obama says in the recording, “Doug Jones is a fighter for equality, for progress.””Doug will be our champion for justice. So get out and vote, Alabama.”
This comes as several women have accused Moore of sexual misconduct and child molestation when he was in his 30s. Moore has also sparked outrage with the claim that slavery was a great time for the U.S.
In 2011, Moore said we should get rid of amendments after the 10th amendment of the Constitution because it would “eliminate many problems.”
Amendments Roy Moore Would Repeal:
13th: Abolished slavery
14th: Equal protection
15th: Blacks right to vote
17th: Direct election of senators
19th: Women's right to vote
23rd: DC residents vote
24th: Abolished poll tax
26th: Set voting age at 18https://t.co/uDGPrEgKGO
