Dallas cop Amber Guyger told investigators that Botham Jean ignored her “verbal commands” before she murdered him — in his own apartment.
Guyger’s testimony suggests that she shot from the door into the darkened apartment and then turned on the lights after she fired two shots, both hitting Jean in the torso.
What is equally disturbing is that the police felt they needed a search warrant to look for contraband and narcotics in Jean’s apartment. In other words, they were trying to impugn his reputation.
Shouldn’t they have issued a search warrant for Guyger’s apartment because she was quite clearly impaired by something that led her to mistake another persons’ apartment for her own.
Guyger was released on $300,000 bail following her arrest three days after she fatally shot Botham Jean. The district attorney said the charges could be upgraded after grand jury proceedings.
